This year I have grown peas, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, onions and corn on the cob. Has anyone else grown any veggies this summer?

I reckon that out of one bag of seed potatoes I got enough to last us for about 3 months, it was also really exciting to go out to the garden and dig them up! (small things!) The kids benefitted from them too as Shelby loved the peas in the pods and would quite happily sit there shelling them and eating them raw. Great experience showing her where stuff comes from apart from Tesco! :rotfl:

SO now I am trying to think about my winter crops, but I am a bit stuck, does anyone else know what I could grow from now until spring?

We don't grow anything apart from strawberries. But my Grandad has a wonderful vegetable patch in there garden and Dd7 loves helping him out when she stays there.
I think it may be to late now but what about growing a pumpkin for halloween if you don't like eating it,just carve it out.Grandad has also recently planted/sown spring cabbage, turnips, radishes, rocket+spinach.
Grandad had a fantastic crop of vegetables this year+it all tasted delicious,he had some rather weird shaped cucumbers as well  .x.

We started small this year by growing strawberries, tomatoes, runner beans, lettuce, green peppers and we have late carrots in to pull in october.

We really got into it, like you said, the girls loved it. DH is already planning his proper poly-tunnell next year as his home-made netting effort was quite a pain to keep moving - not sure about you but my lot were obsessed, going out there every morning before work/school to check progress!
Next year we are going to do lettuce, toms, sweetcorn, green peppers, carrots and potatoes.

My dad has grown his own fruits, vegetables and herbs this year. It's been really nice going for dinner to my parents and eating the home grown produce, especially the home-made apple pies containing apples grown in their garden.

I forgot the autumn raspberries! I went out to check on my baby corns today and there are little fruits forming on the canes! It's quite sad really! I am turning into Alan Titchmarsh! I even got a Gardeners WOrld book out of the library this week to see what the best crops were! ;)

you are going to have to get rid of your bra Gem and become Charlie !!

I would love to grow something in my garden - but i dont have a lot of room. Is there anything i could grow?:goodvibes
