groupie @ Britain pavillion

So my boyfriend and I just went to WDW for the 4th time and I saw something I just had to break down and post about. Tuesday we went to Epcot and heard The British playing (a Beatles cover band that performs in at the British pavillion). We sat down and after a few minutes we noticed this lady sitting at a bench with a dress on, high heels, and kept pouffing her hair and staring at the band. When the band was finished, they left the stage and walked right past her. She stuck out her chest and just oogled them as they walked by.

We then went back Friday and she was there again!

Has anybody else seen this groupie? We usually make it back in the fall and if she is still there, I don't think I can hold in the laughter. She seems to be totally oblivious about people staring and taking pics!

Uh, could be a Cast Member in costume, like the ones in Disney Studios. {formerly Disney MGM}

What cast members are you referring to at Hollywood? We hardly spend anytime there so I'm not familiar with them.

And I don't think so. I don't think Disney would dress their groupies like this.

The band is called The British Invasion. I've heard stories from castmembers that some of these groupies will actually bring gifts for the band during the holidays. I was there taking in a show this past Saturday and there were groupies there. Maybe someone should let them know it's not really the Fab Four... Can't blame them for loving great music though...

British Invasion, Off-Kilter, piano players at Jelly Rolls, cast members at the Adventurer's Club...I think every performer at WDW eventually develops a following of "groupies."

Yeah Jason, I've made the same observation. I particularly notice it at Off Kilter, but I've seen it other places too.

Honestly tho, I think the Adventurers Club tops them all--more than a few times crossing over into "stalker" territory. Whole 'nother thread there.

I was at Epcot on the 24th and saw the same woman watching British Invasion...she was blowing kisses to one of the band members while he was singing...at one point I thought that maybe it was her husband...guess not!

All I can say is WOW!

I saw a lady dressed in a red strapless top, red skirt, and red boots. She was blowing kisses as well.

Last fall, I saw the same lady "rockin' out" to Off Kilter 2 different days. I thought for minute she was going to drop her drawers and toss her panties onto the stage or flash them her breasts. I was very embarrassed for her b/c the band was not into her in the slightest. They more or less looked past her whenever they looked out into the audience.
