I had tried to book a ADR for Boma for my family of 5 for a 4:30 supper. I was told all that was available were two tables, one for 3 and one for 2, and that there was no space for a table for 5 at that time. It would mean that we could potentially be seated at two separate tables far apart from each other.

What are the chances that if I show up for an early supper at that time (4:30 ish), that they'd be able to actually find a table for 5 so that we could actually sit together?

I can't say exactly but it really depends if anyone cancels. If nobody cancels than you can pretty much say that it is a 50-50 chance because people will already be seated.
You might get lucky:goodvibes

Here's what I learned on my recent 10 day trip to WDW. 9 times out of 10, accommodations were made once we were at the restaurant. I specifically recall being told by WDW dining that a seating was completely booked (when I tried to add my sister to the party), only to have my friend call me from the restaurant, telling me that we could not only all sit together but that my sister could join us. Most times they were able to combine my and my friend's ressies, even though we had different times.

The people who make reservations are looking at a computer. Once you're at the restaurant, it's a whole different story, IMHO.

I feel pretty confident that you will be seated with your family.

Have fun on your upcoming trip!

I agree!

We were a party of 7, and making our reservations almost all of them were for 4 and 3. There was not one time that we were seated separately. It certainly could happen that they'd have to seat you apart, but they do everything that they can to keep the party together.

This happened to us at Boma last year however the other way around. We wanted two tables a 3 & a 2 & they only had a table of 5 available when I booked (our daughter and friends wanted to sit seperate from us) teenagers  They were however very helpful when we checked in at the podium and we only had to wait an extra 15 minutes before they found us two tables (as requested not close to us :rolleyes1)

The host/hostess at the restaurant has more flexibility than the phone reservation CM's do. The people on the phone can only fill slots. The host at the restaurant knows where they can push tables together or slide an extra chair up - things like that. Go a little early and explain the situation to the host - give them a little time and most likely they can work it out for you.

Also, your reservations are not for specific tables. It's not as if your three-person reservation is assigned to table 15 near the Hostess Podium while your two-person reservation is at table 47 behind Cooking Station C.

I wouldn't worry, especially given your very early reservation time.

We have ressie's at Hollywood and Vine for for 5 and were told we would be seperate (3&2), hoping for lots of pixie dust that were will be together. If not I will not have any worries, we are in magical world of DISNEY:goodvibes

I really wouldn't worry about it at all. The reservations were made at the same time and therefore "linked" in the system. They know you are really a party of five and the appropriate arraignments will be made.

The only time I've ever run into a problem with a "split" dining reservation was when we had one reservation for four and one one for six at Cape May. When we arrived, the parties at those two tables were finishing up. No big deal. The party of four left but the party of six decided to order another round of drinks and chat for a while. No fault of the restaurant but we did have to wait for a while. They did keep giving us updates though! After about twenty minutes, all ten of us were seated together.

You should be fine, I was so worried about that too! Our 1900 Park Fare was a 2 and 3 tables as well, and they sat us right away together at a table for 6
