I called to make ressies for our group of 8, and the cast member said that I would have to be transferred to 'group dining'. I have made ressies before for 10 using the 'normal' dining number. :confused3

Is this a new policy that I am just unaware of? Allears.net says that group dining is for parties of 12 or more.

Just wondering what's up. Thanks!

Try again, sometimes you just get passed around because a CM doesn't want to do the work :)

I made several ADR's for a party of 10 for our upcoming trip in Oct. No one mentioned group reservations at all, but I was told that my party may be split up. I figured I would arrive early and ask for us to be seated together.

Try again - maybe the 2nd time will be the charm!

I was transferred when I was trying to change my HDDMR reservations but not when I wanted to change other reservations.

We are a group of 7.

I think it must depend on the CM as well as possibly the restaurant.

I just changed several of my reservations last week for a group of 9 and went through the regular dining office. It does depend on the restruarant also. I made ADRs for WCC, Olivias, 50sPT with no problem and we leave this weekend.

I called to add the DDP to my ressie. We are a group of 9, 6 others had already paid for the DDP.

I didn't tell the CM I was part of a group/grand gathering. I didn't think that would matter. When the CM gave me my total it was off by over $150 and kept politely telling her if she did the math herself, it wouldn't come out to that amount at all.

She told me to hold on and when she came back on she said she could not help me and would transfer me to groups/grand gathering.

The new CM sounded really annoyed that the CM would try to handle my request, but told her it was my fault for not telling her.

The group CM told me ALL matters with a group are to be handled by the group dept including dining ressies, changes, general questions, etc..didn't ask if was a new policy, but this was on 8/2/08 that I called.

I just made ressies for a party of 8 for our upcoming trip in Sept and was never transferred to "group dining". They did tell me that at a few we would be seated at 2 tables but that's OK with us.

I made my ressies back in April for 8-10 people per meal - and did it through regular ressie line. We are however, split up at most restaurants like a I have a table for 4 and a table for 6. Some I even had to make two reservations at different times (hope they don't delete the 2nd one, since the CM did them both for me at the same time so I could seat 10) one table of 4 at 1:00 and a table for 6 at 1:05 PM . Never did group ressies for anything...

I've made several reservations for a party of 8 so far for a Jan. trip - at Whispering Canyon, Crystal Palace, Hollywood & Vine, 1900 Park Fare - some were changing from a 6-person party to an 8, others were new res - they never mentioned a different reservation line or that we would need to be split up (although I told them that would be okay).
