Group Convention Rate Refund?

We booked one standard room with the Dapper Day Rate for 5 nights. My Mom has decided that she would like to go with us - we leave tomorrow. The Group Convention booking number says they are closed till Monday. I called Disney Travel and they have a deluxe view room or a suite. We want our rooms to be adjoining and I don't see how that would be possible if she is in a deluxe room and we are in a Standard room. Disney travel could not tell me if I booked the suite if we could get our money back on the Convention rate room. Does anyone know if we could? We would be paying full price, which is really sad when we got such a great rate for Dapper Day. She told me the senior rate was no longer available...

I don't think you necessarily need to call the Group Convention number. Call the hotel directly and see what they can do for you. If you have time, come back and post what they say, since someone else asked this question not to long ago and I'm curious what the answer is!

I called the GC first thing this morning and they told me they could not help me. They said since they do not book rooms and to call Disney Travel.

I guess I didn't mean "the hotel" directly (that was my fault, because it's exactly what I typed, oops!) I meant call the hotel reservations number: 714-956-6425? Is that who you called?

Oh, sorry! I called both. I am back on the phone with the hotel and got someone different this time and he is going out of his way to help me. He thinks he can get us the discount rate.

Sonnyjane - thank you for telling me to call the hotel! Even though I had already called them, at your advice I decided to try again in hopes I might get someone else and I did and he was awesome!!!

He was able to get us connecting rooms at club level at a great rate. So relieved and I was able to get my Mom on our flight in a seat right behind us. It's all coming together!! Now she is trying to pack. LOL
