He ate more last night and we are just waiting for him to go potty. If he does that today, he can come home tonight. Keep your fingers crossed that he will be home with us soon!
My kitty is home! We got to bring him home last night. He is eating pretty well and everything is working properly. His tummy has a giant bandage on it and he has to have pain meds twice a day through Sunday. He's so pathetic wearing his cone and he's not allowed to jump but he keeps trying to so that is a good sign.
I probably only got like 2 whole hours of sleep last night. He always sleeps with us and wanted to last night also. I took his cone off so he could sleep in his normal spot but dozed lightly as he is not allowed to jump and I didn't want him to try it. DH and I are swapping off staying home with him for the next fews days as he must be under constant supervision.
I'm just so happy that he is home and seems to be doing well. The vet says that he should be fine and has responded really well to the surgery. All I can say is that I am happy we already paid for our December WDW trip as we wouldn't be going now due to the $4,800 vet bill. His care was $400 a day as it was 24 hour AND he's been on a cocktail of meds. All that combined with the cost of the x-rays, surgery, anesthesia, and supplies made for one expensive procedure. My co-workers think I should rename him Sir Cost-A-Lot. It's totally worth it though. Plus, the vet is going to let us do a payment plan so we don't have to shell all that out in one chunk. Ah, the things we do for our babies, fur or otherwise.
Thanks again to everyone for your support through this. I know he's not really my child but he is my baby and this has been one of the longest weeks I've ever experienced. I appreciate you all for helping me get through it.
I can relate to those vet bills...we have a lab that loves to eat socks...and sometimes they get stuck, and she needs a sock-ectomy...E X P E N S I V E!!!! But I can't not get her treated, she is my puppygirl!!
