Calling on all creative minds! What's a fun group chat name for keeping in touch with family & friends while we're at DL together for the holidays?
Or "Happiest Christmas on Earth".Merry Dis-mas
Happy Disney-days
Happiest Place on Earth Holiday Edition
Just for fun--and so that participants can quickly find the group chat for this trip among all of their other message threads.Maybe I am missing something but I don't understand the purpose of this?
I assumed it was just a fun thing. I guess this is the part I don't get. I am obviously missing something, I don't understand how this would help.Just for fun--and so that participants can quickly find the group chat for this trip among all of their other message threads.
For example, my extended family has been planning a trip for nearly 11 months. We all have many texts and text threads. I named the thread pertaining to our trip “Dec Disney.”It distinguishes it from “The Fam” thread which is family stuff. Different people, different subject.I assumed it was just a fun thing. I have a what would you do question for everyone…
My niece’s boyfriend had to back out of our trip last week. Do I take him off the group chat? OR, do I let him either remove himself or ask to be removed, if he wants to be?
Here's the option under the Info icon (an "i" in a circle) in Apple Messages on my MacBook. You can add a distinctive photo to the thread, too. So, for example, the OP's group could put a photo of Sleeping Beauty Castle or the big Disneyland sign on Harbor Blvd., which, in addition to a distinctive name, would help them quickly find the group chat for that trip among all their other chats.I didn’t even know you could change the name of a text thread.

Oh, that's cool! I'm on an Android and don't see an option to change my group text photo, but I wish I could. Here's the option under the Info icon (an "i" in a circle) in Apple Messages on my MacBook. Yes, this is exactly why I'm asking. My kids have several group chats already with that same kind of overlap of group members. No one wants to text the wrong group chat accidentally or spend time figuring out which is the right one. A distinctive name is an easy solution. And I just wanted to have a cute oneI have a ton of group text threads but mostly through Whatsapp so that the non-apple users can join in. But because of that it gets really confusing especially if you are in multiple groups with some of the same people. A friend of mine has 3 siblings who are all married. She has a group chat with her entire family, a siblings only group, a group with only some siblings/spouses, a group with just her spouse and her parents, etc.
