Hello all,

Considering another trip to WDW. My husbands knee issues have given us more trouble lately in the parks. We are considering an EVC for our next trip. We are considering a stay at pop. Another thing that would be helpful for us is a ground level room. I know there are always elevators.. it's just those few extra steps you don't have to take. I don't think booking ADA will give us ground floor and we don't need a whole ADA room- just ground floor. Help?

Ground floor will be a request, especially at POP where all buildings have elevators. Accessible rooms are spread throughout the resort on various floors. You can put in a request for ground floor. Make it your only request. Check at the desk on arrival if you haven’t received the room assignment yet; let them know you are willing to wait longer if that means getting the request granted. No guarantees but it can help.

I agree with lanejudy. The less requests you have, the more likely you are to get what you need

I stay at Pop often - was there a couple of weeks ago - and the elevators are decently large. I had no trouble pulling in with the ECV and pushing the button - or backing out. There's still room for others to get in as well. I rarely had any wait for an elevator or anyone with me except family. Ground floor is always easier of course.

I did ask for a walk in shower when I got there and she changed our room to one supposedly. I actually unpacked and then walked in the restroom and saw it was a tub. Doh! I kept the room but eventually regretted it. Just noting that in case you may value a walk in shower over a tub or first floor but be sure to check the room before you unpack - haha!
