What do you guys do with Ground Beef? I am tired of my same 5 meals.

Meatloaf, burgers, tacos, Chili Mac(like homemade hamburger helper) and meat sauce for Pasta.

Surely there's more to ground beef than that???

i do

fajitas, cottage pie, lasagne, chilli con carne......sure there are a few others but can't think LOL

There are lots of cookbooks just for ground beef. Amazon has some.

And there is always Hamburger Helper!! Throw in some veggies and you've got yourself a dish. Lot of people don't care for it, but we do! It is even better as a leftover. :)

Good luck!

I made up a recipe for Spanish rice, which is one of our favourites.

I brown a pound of ground beef with onions and sometimes canned mushrooms. I add a large can of chopped tomatoes, and about a 1/2 - 1 cup of salsa. I add taco seasoning and/or cumin (to taste). After it simmers a little while (15 mins or so) I add about 1c or 1.5 cups of minute rice (I just kind throw in what I think will absorb the liquid). I cover it and let it cook for a few minutes, and then take it off the heat and leave it covered until the rice is cooked. I like to serve it with rolls.

I make meatballs and cover them in a baking dish with yorkshire pudding batter and bake. My kids love this.

I have no idea what you would call it, but one of my favorite recipes is to brown Hamburger meat with peppers, onions and mushrooms. Add cooked rice and some Worchestershire sauce and A1. Mix it all together and serve. It really have a good flavor to it.

I LOVE cooking that...it tastes delicious.

I make kind of a Steak Diane with hamburger patties. I make the burgers 1.5" thick and 2.5" round, salt & pepper and fry them in a cast iron pan until they are almost done. Then in the pan with the burgers I add a couple tablespoons of butter and 2 chopped shallots, cook those for a minute, stir in a sprinkle of flour and 3/4 teaspoon of dry mustard and when that's incorporated add the juice of 1/2 lemon, 4-5 dashes of Worcestershire sauce and about 1 cup burgundy. Simmer until the meat is done. You can also add sliced mushrooms when it's simmering, but I'm allergic so I skip 'em.

in the spring you could make meat helmets.

My mom used to make something she called "Campers Stew". You brown the ground beef, season to taste, and add in some vegetable soup (we always used Campbells). Very easy, and I found easy to adapt to one person size. I used about 1 can of soup (without adding water to the soup now, then it would be Campers Soup) to a quarter pound of beef.

Ha! That Camper's Stew reminds me of my Nana's Cowboy Stew (brown beef, add sliced boiled potatoes and peas) and that was dinner. My girlfriend's mother make something similar she calls Goop. It's like my Nana's Cowboy Stew but slightly thicker.

I love Cowboy Stew/Goop! :goodvibes

My family loves this ground beef Stroganoff recipe over rice....

I usually add alittle water after adding the mushrooms.

Good idea thread. I definitely have a ground beef meal on the menu for this week. :)
