Grosvenor -- Yuck!!!

Dh and I decided to extend our 8-day WDW vacation at AKL to 10 days this past weekend. Nearly everything was booked well before the Memorial Weekend, but we were determined. We were excited when we found a "deluxe tower" room at the Grosvenor -- and for only $150/night. Hmmm...we should have been more suspicious. While the lobby of this hotel was ok, the hallway carpeting was stained and paint was peeling off the walls. Admittedly, there was some work being done on the hotel; but I think they waited way-way too long to do it. Our room was clean but like an el cheapo motel off an interstate highway. The mattresses were skinny and hard, the celing was low, there was next to no furniture in the room and not even a picture on the walls, and the bathroom fixtures were stained. It gave us the creeps. We stayed less than 5 minutes before deciding to spend the night about 20 minutes from WDW. Fortunately, we lucked into a room at CSR the next night. Some will flame me for sayting this, but I just don't think you can beat the Disney resorts for price (if you have AP's like us) and theming.

I'm surprised ... we were on the 12th floor Friday May 20. I thought for the location and price... (I think we paid around 100.00 - 120.00) it was pretty ok. While the room wasn't HUGE - it wasn't tiny either. We had a very nice view of DTD as well. It was fun to watch the fireworks from Pleasure Island. It was handy having a fridge as well.

Our room was VERY clean - and I didn't notice worn/dirty carpets in the hall. The staff was very nice and friendly.

We moved the next day to Vistana and it was BEAUTIFUL... HUGE 2 bedroom.. lots of space, clean.. 7 pools ... it was great!

thats price seems really high to
thats to bad
of the DTD hotels i only like the hilton and the double tree guest suites
i dont care for any of the others
