We are doing a last minute WDW trip, and found the Grosvenor Resort. We've read the reviews and aren't expecting a deluxe hotel, but for the price and with location, it suits our needs. We booked tower rooms and requested DTD and Epcot view, has anyone had a similar room here, and what was it like? Thanx.

We stayed at the Grosvenor Resort on our last trip. You will hear both positive and negative comments on this resort. We had a wonderful stay there. I had a room just like you booked. Tower room with EPCOT view. DTD was right across the street and when we looked to the right, Wow, the beautiful Spaceship Earth. Our room was very clean, no complaints there. It also had a daybed which we did use(family of five) :grouphug: . We would turn out the lights every night and watch the fireworks from our window. The kids looked forward to that (very magicial) :wizard: . We had our van with us but we choose to use Disney buses. The only downfall to that is you share a bus with all the DTD hotels. The Grosvenor is the last one to load in the morning which means you are also the last one off at night. It does not have a food court but does have a little store to purchase drinks, fruit, chips and such. All in all for what we paid I think we got a very good value.

We stayed there two years ago. We had no complaints about the hotel itself--it just wasn't the fun atmosphere the onsite hotels have. The BIG complaint we did have was the transportation. We had to wait at least a half an hour in the morning for a bus to the park we wanted, and when it did come, we had to stand. That was annoying, but that afternoon when we were ready to go back to the hotel, we waited for over an hour in the hot sun (no shade in the waiting area for that shuttle) and, of course, we had to stand again when the bus finally arrived. Fortunately, we had our car and drove the rest of the week. Totally saved our vacation! Maybe they've improved since then.

The Tower rooms arent the problem there really..the ones in the other part are not as nice. We stayed there a couple years ago and had no problem with the transportation then

We stayed there in '97 and had no complaints; needless to say things may have changed slightly since... :teeth: Oh, my DH still goes on about his room service burger - reckons it was the tastiest one he's ever had!! :earseek:
