We are planning to stay offsite for 2 days before going on the cruise. I didn't want to stay onsite but really close. Has anyone stayed at either Hotels and which one is better? If you know of any other hotel that is close to Downtown Disney that is relatively inexpensive, but still a decent hotel, e-mail me.

Thanks,

We'll never return to Grosvenor, but have considered Buena Vista. Look at Mousesavers.com review of the place. She suggests very few off site and it is one of them.

Us too ! We stayed there (actually 4 rooms of relatives) and were thrilled at our $55 a night offer. Ya, well we got what we paid for. The rooms were very worn out and not clean. Bathroom gross. The fridge never worked. The housekeeping terrible. The sidewalks were cracked and unkept, I kept saying "Oh my, Disney would never allow this", aside from the liability. The elevators on the wings are so small is was scary, so we only used inside ones. When we would go to main lobby, we were constantly loudly bothered by the time share folks who had a desk next to the main desk right by the elevators. Pool was okay and clean but all the stuff out there at the kiosk was outrageous. All of the other families checked out early and headed home (they lived in FL) specifically because of the hotel. Oh and they quoted our room with a sofabed, but alas it did not exist. Too many options in the area to settle for subpar.

Hey,

Thanks everyone for your replys . I know I am NOT staying at the Grosvenor. There are plenty of other places I can stay.

has anyone stayed there lately? They have been refurbishing since Nov/Dec, I have read.

We stayed there spring of this year. The beds were old and delapitated. Pitiful really. The bathroom had mold, the room had a old wet smell. And we had a "tower" room. The only good thing was seeing EPCOT Illuminations from our window.

Then there was their buffet breakfast. I had their horrible eggs and was sick 4 hours later. The fruit was frozen mush and the grits were flavorless. The hot food was barely luke warm. I have worked in food service for 17 years and know this is not within HACCP standards, no way.

I would let my pup stay or eat there..and I love my pup!!!

Best western DTD is quite nice as is Royal Plaza and the Hilton.

Have fun, but don't stay at the "GROSS"-venor

Blessings,
Winnie

Thank you for the info. I did not know how disgusting it was. No wonder they are advertising for cheap rooms. I guess you do get what you paid for.

I was now think of the Royal Plaza.

Royal Plaza just got a total rehab and just reopened last summer or fall.
