I need some help from my fellow Canadians . We are going to Disney in early Sept. and staying at the treehouse villas. We would like to take a taxi to a grocery store to buy our groceries. We have used the garden Grocer before and were happy with them but this time we would like to buy our own . So any help you can give us with the taxi and where to shop would be appreciated.

There is a Goodings? market at Crossroads shopping centre (a strip mall) just up the road from Downtown Disney. I don't think it would be very far in a taxi from the treehouse villas. It is a little pricey though due to its location. Would you have the taxi waiting for you? It may be easier to rent a car on property for a day or 2.

I'd try to rent a car for a day or two, personally. You can probably grab a rental for $20-$30 a day.. gives you lots of leverage on where you can go. We always hit the Super Target a few miles away. By looking on Google Maps we found out that there's a Super Target almost directly behind the AKL! Didn't know that!

Instead of Goodings, if you turn left at the intersection with the Crossroads shopping complex, there is a Winn Dixie about a 1/2 mile up the road. You can sign up for their reward card at the checkout and get a discount on your purchase (I tried to sign up on-line, but it only takes US addresses).

The added benefit (to me) is that there is also a liquor store in the Winn Dixie parking lot.
