Grocery stores opened Thanksgiving?

We fell into this a few years ago. Town car picked us up and went to Publix. They were closed due to the holiday. I completly forgot about it. Does anyone know what's open besides Goodings on Thansgiving? I would like a grocery store and not a drug stores like we had to settle for the last time.

I'll be in the same situation. I e-mailed three different airport transp companies. One said they use Publix and they are closed. This company offered a stop at a convenience store instead. Company two said they'd have to check and see if the one they use is open. They said it wouldn't be a problem to stop at a Walgreen's type store that also has a small grocery section. The third company was able to provide me with the hours that the store they use is open and also offered a convenience store for a backup. So - I know Publix is closed - but don't know which else is open for sure and what hours. If you're arriving before 12:00 or so, probably Albertsons and Winn Dixie will have abbreviated hours for those last minute purchases.

Bump............. I will also need directions to a grocery store that is open. This is the first time we will be a rental car. We usually take a town car. Can anyone else help. Thanks in advance

You said you'll have a rental car, I'd be shocked if WalMart wasn't open.

If the limo company doesn't know what stores will be open you might just go to websites and call the local stores and get their hours. It may be different than last year and I'm not sure I'd base my plans on what posters remember from last year.

Lewis, Prepare to be shocked. I am pretty sure WalMart is closed Thanksgiving. (If for no other reason then to build suspense for the big Friday sale!)

I would suggest calling the stores. Around where I live some of them are open for a few hours in the morning.

Oh man!!! We're going to have the same problem. Will the towncar services (we're using FL Tours) stop at a convenience store if the big stores are closed? We should be arriving at MCO around 11:40 or so. Maybe I should just put an order in and have it delivered the day before.

Come to think of it K-Mart is the store by me that's opened on Thanksgiving.

I second your suggestion. Call the grocery stores and check their hours. If you're cutting it close assume the stores will close on or before the time they quote.

Worse case bring non-perishables and make a min-mart stop for milk, eggs, bottled water and the like. Some people have posted that the pricing in the Hess station min-marts is competitive.
