Grocery Stores near DL?

We will be flying in to LAX and renting a car to drive to the DL area. Where would be the best place to stop at a grocery store to get some food for lunches and snacks? We'd especially be interested in Whole Foods/Trader Joe's type places but don't want to get lost looking for the place or take a lot of time.

Food for Less is on Katella.
Not sure where you are staying but if you are on Harbour head south to Katella (away from I5) and turn right on Katella.
It is about 5 minutes down the road on the left.

Not a fancy grocery store (most stuff still in original cardboard shipping boxes) but it works for us.

Another alternative is having food delivered to your hotel. I know that Safeway AKA Von's in so. CA, delivers, and I *think* albertsons.com delivers there, too.

Just in case you didn't know you could do this, here's the list of So.CA Whole Foods, and here's the PDF of the Trader Joe's locations.

But I'd go, and it's actually what we'll be doing, the Safeway/Von's delivery route, especially b/c they are getting all into their organic store brands!!!

There is a supermarket on Ball rd, turn right into Ball off Harbor Boulevard and it is about 300 yards on your right, alternatively turn left into Ball and there is one on the corner Euclid and Ball. These are "spanish" but for a New Zealander these were ideal with lots of fruit and vege.

We were there last week & had the Safeway/Vons delivery...the first delivery is free, so we didn't even pay a delivery charge...

This was the single BEST THING WE DID to prepare for our trip...I made my list leisurely over several days as I planned.

It was SO SO SO SO SO Great!!!!

Henry's is a Trader Joes kind of place that's straight up Harbor Blvd in Fullerton. If you're enroute from LAX go east on the 91 freeway to the Harbor Blvd exit, make a left to get on Harbor and then a left into the first shopping center - it's right there. http://www.henrysmarkets.com/app/henrys/index.php?p=store&storeId=216 Then to get to DL turn right (south), staying on Harbor Blvd for about 3 miles.

Another great find - if all you're looking for is produce - is Tom's Farms, which is about a mile due west of DLR on Euclid Ave. http://www.tomsfarms.com/locations-and-hours That's where we go when we're looking for high quality produce.

We always order groceries from Albertson's and have them delivered to the hotel - saves me from having to pack diapers and wipes and all the snack foods we need. You just order online and the fee for delivery is minimal - plus the DLR bell service is fantastic and calls us via cell the moment the order arrives.

How long in advance do you have to order from Safeway or Albertsons? How do you do that from your home before you go to Cali?
Any more info you might have would be great!!!!!!! Could you tell me how you did it, did you have to sit around the hotel for a while and wait for the delivery?
