i know this has been asked a thousand times, but where is the closest major grocery store to bwv. now to be a really big pain, but could you include directions too. thank you very much.

you guys are the best. we want to stock up on groceries after we've check in. hubby isn't so keen about his because he says he doesn't even go to a grocery store when we're home but convinced after telling him all the money we would save by stocking up. thanks again

Quickest, easiest and nicest is to go to Gooding's BUT you will be paying premium prices. To get to Goodings you need to get to Hotel Plaza (across from the Disney Marketplace entrance). Head out from BWV and turn left onto the main road (I think it's called Buena Vista Drive) travel past CBR and Typhoon Lagoon on your right soon on your left will be DD. You'll see a Hilton on your right. This is the start of Hotel Plaza. Turn right. Go straight at the stop light intersection you will be facing the Crossroads Shopping Plaza. Go straight across and the Gooding's store will be to your left in the main shopping area.

Publix and Wal-Mart aren't very far away either. To get to Publix just don't go straight but instead go to your right onto 535. Follow this for about 10 minutes and Publix will be on your left.

Anybody else want to give some more options?

i thought you could order groceries to be sent to your room ? is this service expensive ?...yoba

To get to either Publix or Wal-mart, go to Hwy 192.

Turn WEST to go to publix, about 3-4 miles on the right (North) side. Warning, publix does not have a traffic light so it can be very tough to make the left turn coming back out.

Turn EAST on 192 to go to Wal-mart, about 3-4 miles on the right (South) side. There's a nice traffic light so getting on/off busy Hwy 192 is easier.

You can get to Hwy192 using the transportation guide and map they'll give you at checkin.

How expensive are groceries that you can order for your room? Is that done through MS?

I thought the Super Walmart had the best selection/prices. But DON'T TAKE 192 if you can avoid it--the construction traffic can be bad.

I can't find my map (just got back--still packed) but take 536 out of Disney, make right on 535 (??) and then left on 192. Walmart ahead on right (past medieval castle dinner). Only took 10-15 minutes. Plus, I could pick up other stuff I needed at reasonable prices. Note: they sell beer in the beverage area.

The groceries on site aren't that bad (I'm from the northeast and used to those prices) but the selection is limited. I go to walmart for chicken breasts and ground beef (not available at resort), dairy (limited selection at resort), beer in 12 packs instead of single bottles, and bottled water (too heavy to pack). I also like to get a family-size frozen lasagne and a chocolate-sampler cheesecake that Walmart sells in the bakery.

I've only been back 4 days and I'm sooo depressed. We went swimming every day we were there last week. Today I have to go out and shovel my driveway. :(
