Planning on staying at Animal Kingdom Villas, hope to rent points. Will have a full kitchen if we can get 2 bedroom. What is the nearest grocery store from the Animal Kingdom? Can I get a bus from Transportation Center? How much for a cab back? Already am aware of Garden Grocier have used them before:cool1pixiedust:

We had a car rental for one day. We ran to supertarget. Awesome store up from publix and cheaper. My husband then returned it and took magical express back to hotel.

My question is this... 15 mins there, 15 minutes back, shopping and waiting for bus, how much is your time worth? Minimum wage is $11/hour here in Canada, plus the cost of your groceries - is the savings from ordering online really worth your vacation time lost? :confused3

I'm not trying to cause problems I too am seriously looking for savings but renting a car vs just ordering online? Would love to hear how others are doing it without cutting into my vacation :wave2:

I do it, because I shop on my non park days. I stay longer than most, and enjoy shopping. Another thing you might consider is after a day at a park, take the bus or boat to Fort Wilderness and go to the Trading Post. They have a nice convenience store with frozen convenience foods, bread milk and such. Or, if you are at DTD, go to the Hess market for such items. The choices are not as great as Publix, Walmart etc, but if time is of the essesence it is another option. There is a Hess station at Boardwalk too, but I've never been there.

Take a taxi.
There is a new Publix in Celebration and it would probably take 10 minutes there. If you promise to call him, when you are done, he will probably give you a price reduction. Don't tell him to wait though, then the meter will run. It shouldn't cost more than $20, almost the price for Garden Grocer's delivery.

As others have said there's a Public and Super Target right up the road. If you take the road that runs past Silver Lake I don't think the Publix is even 10 minutes.

Go out of AKV at the light turn right. That's Sherberth. At the next light turn right, it's down a little ways. You'll see a huge gift store on the right. There is a super target on the left about 5 min away. Or on the other side there is a publix. We go there all the time while staying at AKV. It's very easy to get to.

Yup...Sherberth Rd is the way to go! Target is literally a 5 min drive. They have everything you could need, produce, groceries and a great Disney souvenir section as well. We always stop there at least once per trip to get a case or two of water, snacks, fruit & toiletries etc. It's super close to AKL.

well it sure isn't here in the good ole US of A but that's a different thread totally

Lots if people like to shop, pick things out in person, and not have someone else do it for them When I didn't live in FL and vacationed here I did the same thing;
just makes more sense for many people especially with extended stays

Publix is the solid local favorite but that Super Target on 192 is one of the best big box stores around and very close to AK exiting Disney property by Sherberth rd.

We stayed at Silver Lake last year and will return next month. Super Target is the way to go! I think the prices were better than Publix's too - at least from my experience, Publix is always high so we started looking for other option when we go to FL!

What Publix does have that beats the other guys are tons of BOGO free options,aside from that their prices have gotten pretty high.

There's even a good restaurant right in front of this SuperTarget that's really good - and has normal prices, not WDW prices, so we usually eat supper at this restaurant then do our week's shopping.
