Grocery store madness

A lot of my friends on facebook are talking about how crazy the grocery store is tonight because we are supposed to get a "big old storm" tomorrow. Yep, a whole 6 inches...LOL.

I'm going brave the storm and go grocery shopping tomorrow and enjoy a nice quiet store!!! Thankfully I live less than a mile from the store so it won't be hard for me to make a quick trip and I'll be able to do it first thing in the morning, probably before the snow even starts.

I really to plan my grocery shopping better, if only I didn't NEED to go, I'd leave it until after the storm.

Hopefully there will be some milk and bread left on the shelf or my kids will be mad at me

I don't get it either happens everytime there's a storm even up here in Maine. Geez is milk really needed that bad.

Just left Giant. Tonight is my normal grocery night...It was insane! We are supposed to get between 16-24 inches Hope not!!

The same happens down here with the threat of a hurricane. The only difference is that we usually have a few days notice to get prepared.

We are also supposed to get snow anywhere from 6" to 18" depending on how the storm goes. Had to stop at the grocery store to pick up aveeno for DS allergic reaction to medicine and the place was nuts. I went about 3:30 and I'm sure it was worse once people stopped after work. Of course I had to get a few snacks since we may be snowed in tomorrow.

I did all my major shopping last Friday-I make a menu up for 2 weeks worth of meals-so I am completely good to go! I did run out yesterday before the madness hit to grab a few munchies,but nothign that was dire.

I'm not worried about us here in Ohio. We have been missed by every snow storm so far.

Now for those of you getting 12-20 inches. If your area isn't used to it and does not have the man power or equipment to remove the snow & ice - you all may have to be home bound for a while.

Ohhhhhh.....I soooooo remember THOSE days. CRAZY. Everyone scrambling to get that last loaf of bread, a gallon of milk etc etc. THEN you wake up the next morning and all you got was a DUSTING.


Moved from Boston to Southern California 18 months ago and do not have those worries anymore.

We are supposed to get 1/2" to 1". Blizzard is supposed to stay just south of us.

Close to anniversary of Blizzard of 1978 where we got 30+" and the forecast was for flurries.

I jokingly said to DH tonight "I hope they've got it right this time." I'm not going to the store to buy anything.

If it happens, it happens.

Yeah, I work at Giant Eagle (grocery store for those of you not in PA or Ohio) and it looked like Christmas Eve again today. The lines were just insane the whole day.

I'm in Columbus Ohio too, the latest I heard was 6 inches. That's really nothing to me (being from NJ where I didn't get snow day from 3rd grade until 11th grade), but schools here get cancelled BEFORE the snow even starts. And yes there have been times where the snow misses us and then the kids get a day off for nothing.

I didn't even realize we were supposed to get "a storm" until someone mentioned it on facebook and then I didn't want to make the trip to the store, even though I did plan to make tonight my weekly shopping trip night so I could get it done early instead of getting caught up in the Superbowl shopping crowds.

I am in the blizzard zone and we live in the country. Not the best snow removal cleanup in our area! I did go to do some grocery shopping and the stores were a mad house. Looks like we are going to be in for a while.
