grocery stop budget????

Okay I think I have my food budget for eating out all figured out- now I just want to figure out what I will spend on my grocery stop.

Does anyone have prices for the following things? please let me know if you are quoting american or canadian dollars!

We will stop and pick the following up after arriving at MCO.
1 case of bottled water
4-2 liter bottles of pop
2 large bottles of juice
1-2 liter of skim milk
apples,oranges and nectarines-5 or 6 of each
1 package of muffins
1 bag of pretzels 2
large bags of chips
bulk nuts??
12 pack of budweiser
1 small size bottle of cocunut rum

At a SuperWalmart you should be able to get these things for about this price in dollars:

Sam's water--12 20 oz bottles--$2.50
Cokes--2 liters--about $1 each, depending on sales prices
1/2 gallon of milk--under $2
pretzels--about $1.50
large bags of chips--about $2

All these prices are for national brands except for the Sam's water. Hope this helps!

Hi Grover! The previous poster is from a different part of the country than I, and it shows in the grocery prices they posted. I have never seen prices that low! Maybe I ought to move.

Just to give you an idea, this is what I pay for the items you listed in our very large grocery chain. I have also shopped at the grocery store right outside of Downtown Disney and would not recommend it if you are price conscious. Nothing is on sale there. Cereal is $5 per box!!!!!

Here are the prices I pay in US dollars. I think you can assume 50% more for your exchange:

1 case of bottled water
-- $10.00 (Just saw this for $5/12 pk for Aberfoyle water.

2 liter bottles of pop - $1.69 each
2 large bottles of juice $ $3.00 each for store brand
1-2 liter of skim milk - $1.49
apples,oranges and nectarines-5 or 6 of each - usually $2.00 for small fruit sizes (each kind)
1 package of muffins - $2.00
1 bag of pretzels - $1.50
large bags of chips - $2.59
bulk nuts?? - probably $4-5.00 per pound
12 pack of budweiser - depending on bottles or cans - $8.00
1 small size bottle of cocunut rum - can't help you there, sorry



I hope you can get someone to post who lives in Florida, because there is definitely a variation in prices.
