Where would we find a grocerystore near WDW?

What are grocery prices like in Florida (USA for that matter)?

There was one down by the Gaylord Palms (kind of like behind it) but I thought the prices were very high. I think it was Publix. I did most of our grocery shopping at the Super Walmart on 535. The prices were cheaper and they had everything we were looking for. Of note though, we didn't do any major cooking. I think somebody posted that there was a different one over near the Crossroads.

The Prices at Publix are the average prices.. SuperWalmart is cheaper, Goodings is a rip off. Publix has much better meats than SuperWalmart. Actually, Publix is a better store than SuperWalmart. Yes, you can save some money in SuperWalmart, but the fruit, meat, bakery goods & service are much better at Publix ;)

Publix is the way to go for sure. They have decent prices, and it's a much more favorable experience than the mayhem known as Wal-mart.

I wouldn't eat any meat or perishables from Wal-Mart. I just don't think their stores are very clean.

Compared to the prices in Iceland, you'll be quite pleased. :thumbsup2

My receipt from a few weeks ago:

gallon of milk $3.35
50 count Twinnings tea bags $4.75
loaf of Italian bread $1.47
1.5 pounds bartlett pears $2.83

Depending on where you are staying, there are Publix All over.

Go to their web site and you can see like 30 in Orlando.

I am going to use the one near International Dr and Central Fl Parkway.

go to publix dot com

LOL. No doubt about it!

You can go online to www.gardengrocer.com and pre-order all of your groceries for delivery to your place (it's free if you spend over a certain amount), the food is very high quality and priced the same as most of the stores, just another option for you!

This would also give you the opportunity to "price out" or build a sample "budget" of what you would like to buy locally, in advance, and then you would know EXACTLY how much it's going to cost you before you arrive, not to mention not having to go shopping when you get there! :thumbsup2

This trip shopped at a newer Publix on Sand Lake Drive just north of I-4.
