Grocery Shopping Trip

We will be using Tiffany Towncar for our transportation to Disney from the airport. I know there are a lot of FL Tours fans out there, but, we used Tiffany in 2000 and were pleased so we decided to stick with them.

But, my question: any ideas where to stop for grocery shopping? I heard about Publix and Winn Dixie, any thoughts. We will just need basic things like water, soda, snacks, peanut butter and jelly ect... In 2000 we stopped at a great grocery store that was on a main road/highway and fairly close to Disney. I would love to use that one again, but don't remember the name. It reminded me of Super Stop and Shop (New England) but, was a bit smaller. I would just like to know what I'm talking about before we stop. Thanks everyone.

I also like TTC but never had a choice as to where we stopped. That said I have never been dissapointed! Generally speaking the driver will have a preferred route depending on your resort and stop at a major chain. It also seems to depend on what time of day you are arriving as they have a good idea of which stores will be least crowded at certain times. Keeping in mind that they make $ money if they can do more round trips I just let them choose the most convenient for them, other than goodings.

I make a list and group the items as they would be found here at home and they are usually very easy and quick to find.

Is Goodings a grocery store? Is this the one that is close to Disney but VERY expensive? If so, will TTC stay clear or them or do I need to ask>

Goodings has a website and I was looking at their prices...outrageous! I would definately avoid Goodings, if you have a choice.

YES - sorry I should have been more specific, if you shop at goodings you may as well just get what you need at the resort!

I am quite sure that TTC knows you want a regular grocery store and in my experience we have always gone to a large chain store, Publix or Albertsons come to mind. Once when we arrived later in the evening the driver wanted to just stop at Goodings and my husband quickly "changed the drivers mind" !!

I always confirm the grocery stop when we get into the car and make sure they know I will be happy with "anything but goodings" they know the deal.

Just down thr street from Goodings is a Winn Dixie with decent prices. You can save even more by applying for the shopper card.
