I know there are certain things at the Dollar Tree that you should not buy (toothpaste).

Is there anything at the Grocery Outlet that I should avoid buying? I need to pick up some HBA stuff and was thinking of going there. I need stuff like deodorant, sunscreen, first aid stuff.

Should those type of items be okay to purchase, keeping in mind that I will be looking at expiration dates?

Thanks, in advance!

I wouldn't worry so much about items being unsafe for consumption and would concentrate on the volume/count of an item at the Dollar Tree. Some things are a bargain, but realize that many things are packaged specifically for Dollar Tree and contain much less than the typical package at a regular discount store such as Target or Wal-Mart. Go in knowing your per item count. Also vacation supplies can easily come from your regular stock. I have been known to throw in half used packages of shampoo, conditioner, face wash etc and the leaving the empties in the hotel room

A lot of stuff at Grocery Outlet is old packaging, seconds (not quite up to standards but completly safe), and close-dates. So yes check for exp. dates. But for the most part things there are safe.

Now I am curious. Is there something wrong with the toothpaste? :confused3

You need to read on the box to see where it was made. I would only buy it if it was made in the US. I remember there being big to-dos about the China and South Africa toothpastes at the Dollar Tree having stuff in them taht is not allowed in US-made toothpaste.
