Hello- we have used Garden Grocer in the past and have no complaints, except how expensive it is. Has anyone used Water Butler's? It appears to be less expensive....Also considering a Walmart delivery but have read that sometimes that is not the smoothest. Any input appreciated!

I used Garden Grocer in the past as well, but it's really pricey. For our trip last month, we used Kroger Delivery without issues. Kroger lets you pick an hourly delivery time and shows the cost per hour (less busy hours are cheaper than busier). The cost per food item was the same you get in the store, so it only cost the delivery fee as an extra.

On our trip, I was able to find a $3 delivery hour in the mid-evening which worked out well for us (the more expensive times were closer to $8 - $10).

I like that Garden Grocer exists, but in my opinion they have really priced themselves out of the market, with some of the larger chains offering delivery (Walmart, Instacart, Kroger, Amazon).

We, too, successfully used Kroger for our trip in August. They had a coupon at the time, $25 off your first two deliveries. It was sweet- breakfast, beverages, and snacks for the room came to about $8!

Thinking of using Kroger for our October trip. Did you book this through instacart? Do they just call you when they get to the hotel lobby? I wanted to avoid having the groceries get accepted for delivery by bell services. We wont have that much stuff - I should be able to carry whatever they drop off.

Not sure if Kroger is available through Instacart or not, but we put in order through the Kroger site on our Kroger account. It was easy, and it lets you pick the hour for delivery.

On our order, the items were dropped off with Bell Services, and then I went to Bell Services to get the items.

We always use Amazon Fresh whenever we are on the resort and bell services also delivery them to our hotel room without an issue.

My daughter has used Amazon with no problems. We have used Instacart very successfully during the post pandemic vacations. We had coupons for Instacart but I found their pricing consistent with Garden Grocer.

For us a big consideration is that Garden Grocer has no issues with delivering the beer. The beer does come warm from Garden Grocer. With Instacart you have to be there to accept the beer. I asked Instacart to deliver the beer cold, considering I had to be there to accept it. DH said it felt like it was bought cold and became warm, which he didn't like.

Currently we're working on a credit from Garden Grocer. In September we had to cancel 2 days out. Despite their policy, GG credited out account without the fees, with the beer portion being credited back to our credit card.

Ordered through Kroger last month (through their website).Placed order a few days before travel-believe orders open up a week before. Received a text from the driver when they were a stop away. Everything was perfect- met the driver in the lobby as we ordered alcohol.

We must have had the odd situation with Kroger in Sept. We had an order and it never came. We called and was put thru multiple different people, we spent 3 hours on the phone on the 1st day of our vacation. Only come to find out they canceled the order. We don't know if it was because of Helene or what. We always had great results with Walmart and their prices aren't marked up like instacart. We also liked using Amazon.

We use Walmart grocery service at home so are familiar with how it works. Placed an order to be delivered to Fort Wilderness at about the time we were arriving. We were late, or course, but Bell Services stored the order for us, refrigerated and frozen items were stored in a fridge and freezer. When we arrived Bell Services brought the groceries to our cabin. There was a charge and a tip for the driver, but everything was perfect.

We used WalMart in January 2023 and it went very well!! No issues whatsoever. They arrived at the allotted time, the order was correct, and it’s no more than my Walmart at home!!
Did you meet the delivery person or did they leave the order with Bell Services for you to pick up later?

When we used it in January, we met them in the lobby. It went very smoothly. I do recommend this. We recently had a stay and had them leave it at bell services and it was obvious that the refrigerated items were left at room temp. Luckily it wasn’t too long that things spoiled but I wasn’t very happy, I was under the impression that they would be refrigerated. It did take a while for them to be brought to my room too. My January stay I was in WL main building (easy to meet them) last stay was SSR (much harder)

If you plan on having bell services store your groceries—be sure to have it noted for the store to bag and mark refrigerated items separately so bell servic s knows. Also, remember er you have to meet in-person if you order any alcohol.

Anybody use Costco delivery - we are large group staying in a villa and will be making all meals. Thinking of splitting our grocery order between Costco and either Walmart or Kroger. However, have not seen any reviews on Costco delivery.

We're going to try DoorDash. BestBuy had a deal of $85 for a $100 DD gift card, plus Chase Sapphire gives $10 off groceries once per month. Both of those will help offset the price bumps that DD has for grocery deliveries (we notice groceries tend to be about 10-15% more expensive when ordering through DD).

Plus some of the local grocery stores are also running deals which should help.

Just keeping my fingers crossed we get a female shopper. We've had really bad luck with male shoppers subbing with random items or leaving things out of the order completely.
