Over the course of 12 yrs of being a DVC member I have never done this. I have looked at the Garden Grocer website and the prices seem rather expensive, can you suggest any other options? If not we can always run to the super WalMart.

If you have a car, I would definitely go get groceries on my own unless you just want the convenience. We have been using Garden Grocer because we don't rent a car. I have been very pleased with them, but have heard great things about WeGoShop.com. Both have delivery service + tip (if you choose), but GG gives you limited choices online to create your order. WeGoShop allows you complete freedom to "free form" your order. It's too much work for me to do it that way! ;) Depending on how long you're staying and how much you order, GG has free delivery for orders over $200.

We always use wegoshop.com and are always happy with them! :thumbsup2 They go to the store you want and will use your coupons if you have any. It is super easy to place your order. The only thing I would suggest is that if you are going at a busy time, book your delivery ealy so you can get the time you want. :) Have a fantastic time! :cool1:

We also use wegoshop.com. We have used them on 6 trips, and I recommend them.
The cost of the items are the exact cost at the store you choose. They will give you the original store receipt. Garden Grocer marks up each item.
However wegoshop.com's delivery fee is higher.
We usually buy: water ,soda, juice, coffee, fruit, breakfast items, cheese and crackers, snacks, beer and wine, and, considering the delivery cost, we have always saved money over buying the same item,s on site.
Good Luck

I agree the prices of GG do look more expensive. We had some groceries delivered last month and decided to go with WeGoShop. I personally like their model of making money better than GG and think it might be cheaper. I know both are much cheaper then buying things on property!

With WGS they make a profit by charging you a delivery fee on top of the actual price of the groceries. They basically will shop for what ever you want at any store - a shopping service.

With GG they charge you little or no fee but mark up the items they sell. The plus side is they have a cool web site to choose your groceries.

I used wegoshop.com after doing a lot of research on here and other websites. We were very happy with them. We were shopping for baby food/juice/water and some breakfast items. We also got a case of beer. Delivery was right on time, the price was very good, and you have unlimited choices. You can also look at the flier for the local grocery store to price check. They will also go to other stores for organic/specialty items i believe.

I have used WeGoShop once and Garden Grocer twice. I like Garden Grocer better. With Garden Grocer, we knew exactly what we were getting and everything was available. A few items we got from WeGoShop were substituted for things I would not have bought. Garden Grocer had everything packed well and it was waiting for us a Bell services when we arrived. I also had to change my order a few weeks before we left for vacation and their customer service was great.

What is the delivery fee for WeGoShop? I know with GG you can schedule a delivery even before you arrive so your groceries are waiting for you at bell services, which is nice if you're not sure exactly what time you'll arrive and if you want to go to the park once you check in rather than waiting for the grocery delivery. Do you need to be there when WeGoShop arrives or can you arrange payment ahead of time with delivery to bell services? Thank you!

I am also wanting to know the answers to the PP questions. Can anyone help?

Also, who delivers beer
GG?
WGS??
neither?

Do either deliver alcohol (Rum/vodka) type?

Here are WeGoShop's delivery fees....

Shop and Delivery Rates:

Grocery total up to $50.00 = $17.00 service fee
Grocery total between $50.00 - $100.00 = $22.00 service fee
Grocery total between $100.00 - $200.00 = $27.00 service fee
Grocery total between $200.00 - $300.00 = $37.00 service fee
Grocery total over $300.00 = 13% of grocery total, service fee

A gratuity of 10% of the grocery total will be added to all orders that are left at bell services.

For Garden Grocer...

Is there a minimum order amount and delivery charge?

Yes, $40 minimum order for products listed on our website with only a $12.00 delivery charge. No delivery charge for deliveries of over $200 of products listed on our website.

Also...

Due to the rise in gas prices, we are introducing a temporary fuel surcharge of $1.99 effective immediately. We apologize for this inconvience, and look forward to removing this fee once gas prices return to under $3.00 a gallon.

So from these statements, WeGoShop costs more for delivery fees by this amount...

$40-50 spent - $15
$50-100 spent - $8
$100-200 spent - $13
$200 -300 spent - $37
I believe the $8 or $13 dollars is easily made up by the non inflated price of the groceries.

We used WeGo for some drinks, breakfast and snack items for the week costing $84. It was a $22 delivery fee well spent. Spending $3.99 for a case of water paid for it. It turned out many of our items were on sale really bringing the prices down.

Gratuities are one think I don't know the comparison. With WeGo being a personal delivery service there is an expectation of a Gratuity. I not sure about GG. They may also have that expectation. I do know that Bell Services will expect a gratuity, so you should expect to add that to any service that delivers to Bell Services. What do people pay? $2 per bag? or is that only luggage?

Both will deliver Beer/Wine/alcohol.... but the details I'm not so sure about.

WeGoShop- Beer and Wine are sold in grocery stores so would be a part of the normal shopping. They will also go to a second store to purchase alcohol. I'm not sure if there is an extra charge for that or not. The website states that they will require to see your ID when they deliver items with alcohol. They did not ask for mine when we received our groceries with Mike's Hard Lemonade. Perhaps it was obvious! ;) I'm not sure if they will require delivery in person, verus bell services, if you order alcohol.

Others have experience with GG. It seems I remember others having to scan and send in their ID to have it delivered.

:confused3

I know that on Garden Grocer tipping is optional. I was just wondering how much people usually tip for delivery. I will schedule it to be delivered to Bell Services at our hotel so that it will be there when we arrive.
Thanks

I used WeGoShop.com and love them. I orderd wine coolers along with the groceries and got just what I asked for. They will work out all the details with you as to when you want your groceries. I called them when I arrived at the resort and met "Amy" I think out front. We settled up and she unloaded everything and took it all to Bell Services to refrigerate since I didn't have my room yet. I actually tipped about 15% of the entire bill. The service alone was worth it!! Plus she was/is a lovely person.

I'll definately use their service again in October. :thumbsup2

Thanks Linda, I have used Garden Grocer in the past, but am hearing good things about We go shop. I will check them out. Thanks for the info. :thumbsup2

We used Garden Grocer for our last trip, in April. I tipped 20% of my bill. Now we added beer to it, which isn't listed on the website, so I guessed how much that would add to our total.

To add the beer, we just typed what we wanted in the box labeled special instructions. The day after I submitted my order, someone from GG called and left a message for us to call them back. Evidently, they need your CC # a second time to process the alcohol purchase since it's not integrated with the food.

We didn't arrive at the resort until after midnight and everything was at bell services.

We had never ordered groceries before, choosing instead to rent a car and go to the grocery store ourselves. However, this past trip we had a car rental reservation snafu and were forced to use DME, which meant no car to go to the grocery store. We were VERY pleased with our experience (both with DME and GG) and will be doing it this way from now on, as we actually saved money (always a good thing, right?). Maybe I should call and thank Dollar for showing us the light!

ETA: While we only ordered beer, GG would get us wine and alcohol (I called and asked). Just put what you want in the special instructions box.
