Hello! I hope this is the best place to post this question (if not, feel free to move!) we're going on our first disney world trip in October and I'm looking into grocery delivery options. there will be 6 adults and 2 kids. we have the standard dining plan, but I want to have some additional items delivered to the room (case of water, snacks, some breakfast items, yogurt, milk, etc)

I was overwhelmed by all of the options for this! it seems like there were a lot of options for companies & personal shoppers (we go shop, garden grocer, orlando theme park shoppers, etc)

Any insight into which ones are the best/most affordable? Also, a few logistical questions:

-how far in advance should you order?
-what happens if they deliver it before you arrive or if you're not at the resort? related to that, assuming that the resort will hold it for you, will they also store perishables somewhere for you?

Thanks so much, I have found this forum to be very helpful.

I've used Garden Grocer twice and would absolutely use them again. I'd suggest going through the site and making sure 1) they have what you want, 2)making sure you would hit the correct amount and 3)checking the prices for things you could possible bring with. For instance I found the price of peanut butter to be far more expensive hat it was locally, at least at the time, and that was easy enough to pack in the suitcase that took up minimal room. If I remember correctly I believe I stuck it in a shoe.

You can ask for a particular delivery time on your order but if you're not there its no big deal. Bell services will keep your order with them and refrigerate anything that needs to be. I would advise you to order 4-6 weeks in advance if you're traveling during a busy time of year to ensure that your day and time are available, but if you're going at a slower time 3-4 weeks should be fine!

I'm to sure if this is an option, it pained me to look at these prices of groceries so I called dollar rental car! I'm paying $20 for. 2 1/2 hour rental car. That gives me enough time to run to Walmart and get checked into the room, then the drop off is at downtown disney...

We have found Gardengrocer.com to be the most affordable and convenient option for us. Our last trip I did a price comparison to our local grocery store, yes the prices are a bit more expensive on some items but some were surprisingly the same.Their customer service was excellent.

Not sure where you're staying, but we have used the Disney room delivery service at AKL for one stay.
There were 7 of us, we ordered English muffins, milk, an entenmens Danish thing, some ice cream and pretzels to snack on.

In all honesty - we didn't use anything other than the pretzels which we wound up bringing with us to the parks everyday.

Water for us was a simple fix - we bring those fill yourself bottles with the filter in the lid. all we needed was a water fountain.

In my experience the service is a great option, but was a waste of money for us.....
I guess if you plan on spending the time in your room it may be more worth it, but that's just not how we roll.

Perhaps we would try another service in the future if the need is there.

We're staying at AoA. we only have reservations for breakfast one day and the men in my family (my husband and both of our dads) seem really concerned with that. I know they could go down to the food court at the resort, but they also don't really want to waste their meals on breakfast. I figured some cereal or something easy like that in the room would be a good option.

thanks for all of the feedback, I will look into them!!

Don't forget about WeGoShop!
I just spoke with someone from there this morning, she was very nice!! It's hard to sort through all of these different services, since some have the flat rate for delivery while others have a % fee for service. I guess I have some homework to do!

Another vote here for WeGoShop! Amy is fantastic! We just did our first grocery delivery order ever for our 11 day trip at the end of June. We went with Amy because of the recommendation of a friend who is a DVC owner and has used this company numerous times.

We will be placing another order with WeGoShop for our December trip. Amy has excellent communication before your trip and the day of delivery. I have a million and one food allergies and intolerances, and she read lots and lots of labels for me to make sure that items were safe. DH and I highly recommend Amy and WeGoShop!
