I know Vons delivers and I heard good about them here so I'm planning on having them deliver. My question is A: I assume I need to be there when they deliver? In WDW we didn't nee dto actually be there for the delivery but I think its depends on who is delivering.

B: Since you can arrange a 1 hour window for delivery, though since we're flying in and taking a bus to the resort it's hard to know exactly when we'll be there as this is our first trip to DLR, will they be able to bring the groceries to the room or will I have to come to the front desk or bell services to get them?

Any help to give me more of an idea of what to expect is greatly appreciated. <3

I haven't done it to the villas, but I would assume it's the same hotel wide. We didn't have to be there and the hotel accepted our order. You only have to be there when you've ordered alcohol.

They will hold them downstairs at bell services (and they refrigerated the cold stuff for us) and brought it up with our luggage. They won't bring it your room ahead of time.

We've also been there when the grocery order arrived and we went down and met the delivery person.

There are large commercial refrigerators and freezers in the luggage storage room.

GREAT! Thanks guys. It sounds just like how WDW does it then. Great about the cold storage too. It was nice to be able to have Eggos and milk stay cold though I wasn't going to try to order Eggos this time just in case. YAY! That's a LOAD off of my mind! Our autistic son is VERY VERY difficult w/ food. We always travel w/ all of his food and still will this time, but one cannot travel w/ "sparky water" by the case.

I was coming to post on this same question. We are staying off property though, at the Howard Johnson. Does anyone know if you have to be present to accept or can they deliver to the hotel without us being there? Thanks!

HoJo's will accept your delivery, sign for it and place it in storage. If anything needs to be refrigerated, they will place it in a fridge. But no freezer. Then you go to the Front Desk when you return, and they will give you your delivery. (And there are carts available to take it to your room).

You might also consider using Amazon Prime Now. The prices are usually much better than Vons delivery, and you can order same day and get delivery within 2 hours. You can track the delivery on the app.
