Staying at AKL for a 6 night trip and due to logistics and financing using ME rather than our usual towncar with grocery stop plan.

I am going to pack a few necessities as we usually just buy cold breakfast foods and snacks anyway. I was planning to use the AKL grab n go type foods more than normal and I can't find a list of availability at AKL. Do they have much varieity, say cranberry juice in addition to the traditional juices and would they sell a loaf of bread? Can you say buy a 6 pack of beer for the room or will they limit you to 1 pp?

FWIW, we usually stay at the Epcot area and I the few things I need at the boardwalk store if I haven't done a grocery stop or run short during the trip.

Otherwise it may be worth it to have groceries shipped (can they buy you beer or wine?) or take a cab ride in which case the town car may come back into consideration.

TIA

Can't remember but on one thread I was reading that there is a service where you order groceries online and then they are delivered to you. That might be an option. Perhaps someone can assist with the exact web page.

Keep in mind that the AKL has the food court and a store. I'm not sure about bread as I've never purchased that there. I know snack bar has lots of juices but again, can't guarantee the cranberry. They have a grab and go area with pre-made sandwiches, cheese, fruit, deserts, drinks, etc. But, they aren't cheap.

I don't believe they limit the amount of beer you can buy but I don't know that they "sell" it in six packs. You might have to buy it individually.

We used www.wegoshop.com on our June trip and they were great! They got exactly what we wanted and the service was fast & friendly. They can get beer for you and will shop at a store of your choice. Check out the website, I had never ordered groceries before, but this service made it easy.

Thanks - I think I will but I was getting a bit confused by the website. It didn't look to me like they delivered to WDW, duh on me I guess!

My list is short and simple so delivery is a good option, I am going to re-check the website. I have done online shopping but only from a detailed list - I think it was peapod? I guess I have to raid the pantry for names and sizes LOL.

Do you know the time of the grocery service's delivery? Will it wait for you in the lobby, or be brought to your room. Not sure if there are perishable items available, but I would like to use this service and have them arrive the first night.

Disney Resorts grocery delivery

This should take you directly to the site of the people who deliver direct to Disney resorts. They are a husband & wife team (plus an adorable little boy) they were great to work with.

I am not sure of what times they deliver, you can e-mail them to ask. They will meet you in the lobby if your room is not ready, or deliver to your room if you are already in it. They were there within in 15 minutes of our scheduled time. You can have perishable items delivered as well, I am not sure of the procedure if you do not have your room yet, but I am sure someone will know.

The reason I decided to go with Gooding's (www.goodings.com) over Wegoshop is that with Gooding's you don't have to schedule your delivery. They deliver to Bell Services, and then Bell Services delivers it to you. BS calls first, and if you're not in they store your groceries for you. Gooding's separately bags and labels refrigerated items and freezer items, and BS stores them appropriately. This not having to schedule the delivery was why I went with Gooding's.

This won't help the OP, however, because Gooding's does not deliver alcohol -- I think this has something to do with the fact that they never see you directly so they're unable to guarantee they're not delivering to minors.

Gooding's is an actual grocery store in the area. They carry many, many more items in the store than are listed on their website, but if they carry it it's available for delivery. About half of what we ordered in May was NOT listed on their website. There's a flat $10 fee, and a $50 minimum. We found Gooding's to be friendly and efficient, and they did everything they promised, even down to the request that the American cheese I ordered be sliced very thin, and that the bananas I ordered were some ripe and some green so we would have some immediately ready-to-eat but others that would be good and fresh by the end of our trip.

Thanks everyone I have an e-mail into wegoshop as that may be the answer for us. My list however is so small that if they have a minimum I may have to rely on grab n go for the few things we need.

If I had more detail on offerings at the sundry type store I may not even need groceries. Off to do more searching!

I used Netgrocer w/o any problems for my trip last week. They have a large supply of items to choose from. They even shipped it to the hotel a day before my arrival so it was waiting for me when I checked in.
