I'm seriously thinking about ordering groceries and having them delivered for my next trip in 3 weeks. Who would you recommend and why? Additionally can you tell me if there is a "minimum" purchase requirement?

Thanks!

I use Garden Grocer and have always been very happy with them. I think that if you order under $200, they charge a $12 delivery fee. If order is over $200, there is no delivery fee.

DH and I are going for our first trip home. We have cruised using our points but this is first land trip. Ten days, right before Thanksgiving, I will order some groceries, love breakfast in the room (not PopTarts)

We have used wegoshop twice and have been very happy with the service. We prefer them because we can give them a list of exactly what we want rather than having to choose from a list.

We have also used Garden Grocer and found them great for our needs.
They have a large range of products online and the level of Customer Service is of a high standard.

I have used Marge at wegoshop.com several times. I really like being able to order exactly what I want (name brand, size, etc..) You pay exactly what she pays for your groceries (no mark up). She gives you the receipt. There is a delivery charge based on the $ amount of what you order plus tip.

The service was great, friendly, always on time.

Thank you all for the information. I guess it's up to me now to choose. I'm still on the fence; groceries or no groceries. It's just me on this trip so how much would I atually have to buy?? I do know I'm tired of paying "Disney" prices. I almost died last time when I purchased a tiny block of cream cheese and it was over $3.00!! You know the size; 4 good smears and it's gone! :lmao:

We used garden grocer last time and only ordered $70 worth of groceries.

The only thing I didn't like was that it was delivered to the front of the resort not to my room. They said they would call when they were there - well they called the room and we were at the pool. I wouldn't have cared but I gave $20 in tip for the order and then had to tip the bellman to bring it up. If they had told me that they call the room and not my cellphone I would have left a smaller tip. It was a lot easier than getting it myself, so I would use them again. And in all fareness I keep meaning to write Garden Grocer but haven't yet - so they haven't had a chance to reply.

We have used wegoshop.com 5 times and we have been very pleased with their service. They will shop where you ask, and the charge is the exact cost of the items purchased, plus a set delivery fee.
We have found that we saved the cost of the delivery fee, over shopping in the Disney stores.
We order water, soda, juice, coffee, breakfast foods, fruit, cheese and crackers, snacks, and beer and wine.
Good Luck

Another wegoshop fan here. Love Marge and Amy! They even call if they can't find exactly what I asked for and give me choices on a substitute.

I actually just sent Amy my order! We spoke earlier today because I had questions and she made me feel very comfortable. It wasn't a big order; mainly breakfast items, beverages and snacks. But after paying some outrageous price last year for a tiny package of cream cheese at SSR  I decided I had to do something.

So thank you everyone for your input and I'll let you know how my experience went!!

Ok...now that I've determined who I would order from I have one more question. What is the customary tip??? I tend to tip generously.

I would say it may depend on the size of the order, between $5 and $10 perhaps?

Thanks for the reply!! Actually I was thinking just a little more. They are saving me alot of money by not having to shop on Disney property. So I was really thinking maybe $15.00.??? My grocery order isn't going to be that much at all since I basically ordered breakfast foods some snacks and beverages. So if I were to base my tip on the order then it definately would be much less. We'll see. Let's see how things work out in the end.

I was researching this last night. One of these- I think it was garden grocer- said that if the food is left with bell services then they add 10% to the bill for a tip.

This is another vouch for WeGoShop with Marge and Amy. They are great people to work with and I don't think I will ever go to WDW again without having them deliver our groceries to us. So much better than paying Disney prices and we get exactly what we need. Plus if you run out of something during your stay that you need, they will get it for you and bring it to you. We always tip them 10% of our order.

This was what I was wondering. We are going with GardenGrocer and we will definitely not be in the room when our groceries will be delivered. So if we use a credit card to pay for our groceries, will they charge my credit card an additional 10% when they deliver to bell services? That's what I was going to tip anyway so it's not a big deal. I just want to know how it works. Of course, I will have to tip bell services too.

What Amy said for me to do is call when I get there and let her know if I have my room. If not I'll meet her in the front, she'll hand over the items to Bell Services and she and I will settle up. Anything perishable will be put in a fridge and then I don't have to worry. Once I get my room I'll call Bell Services to bring the stuff up. The first day for me is a down day anyway...so I'll more than likely be heading for the pool!! :thumbsup2

But isn't Amy with We Go Shop? I'm going with Garden Grocer. Does anyone know how that will work?
