Groceries

I've used Amazon Pantry and Amazon Now, and have been pleased with both. Going forward, I'm only going to use Amazon Now, because they deliver directly to Bell Services, thus avoiding Disney's new $5 fee for package delivery.

We use Amazon Prime Pantry for every trip! It is perfect way to have non perishable snacks in the room! We are very pleased each time as the box arrives the day we arrive or is waiting for us when we get there.

Can you order alcohol or perishable items, i.e. milk, cream cheese etc from Amazon Pantry? We have used Garden Grocer in the past.

No alcohol from either. No perishables from Pantry. You can get perishables from Prime Now. They do not have as good a selection as Garden Grocer but for what they do have, the prices are lower and there is only a $20 minimum and no delivery fee - there is a recommended tip of 10% or $5 whichever is greater. The tip is optional and is added to your online order.

The only bread and milk offerings were organic and my kids are very picky about bread and milk (only chemical laden products for us) so we brought bread from home and bought milk at the resort.

It was nice to have a low minimum so we could make a second order partway through the trip and the two hour delivery is nice too.

I was looking at the Wal-Mart option and they deliver perishables and they have a variety of choices. We were looking to order beer and they have that too.

....so we've never stayed onsite at Disney. Do all resorts carry a few groceries - ie milk? We'd definitely need milk in our fridge.

I would guess they all do. At Pop and POFQ it is half gallons in the food court. At CBR, I think I recall that it was in the gift shop.

We ordered Garden Grocer at WDW at Christmas and Disney didn't charge us any money for delivery. When did the $5 charge start for grocery delivery? From what I read I thought it was only for postal deliveries.

Garden Grocer deliveries are not subject to the $5 charge. Groceries from Amazon Prime Pantry are subject to the fee.

They do sell that stuff in the gift shop but it is ridiculously expensive. We used Garden Grocer and it was priced decently and was waiting at the resort for us when we arrived.

Those of you who have used amazon...how do you have it addressed? I've never had stuff delivered on vacation before.

When you order from Garden Grocer - Does the resort put your cold items in your room or do they store them in a fridge somewhere?

If you order Amazon Prime Now, do you need to be present to accept the delivery? Or does bell services hold it for you and can bring it up to the room later?

I used to use GG, but have opted to take an Uber over to a nearby Walmart on arrival day from now on. I just couldn't find everything I wanted on one grocery site, and didn't want to deal with all the extra fees. It may work out to be just about the same with the uber but we get a much wider selection of things/options, (ie, we were able to pick up sunscreen, lotion, a few toiletry items, along with our groceries, wine/beer, wine opener, and have the option of clothes, towels, etc as well).

Bell Services has fridges and freezers where the keep you items until you call them to deliver to your room
