Groceries? Who do you use?

We haven't decided if we are going with a rental car or not. If not we need to find out how to get groceries to our room. Who do you recommend? Are they expensive?

We used gardengrocer.com last month and had no problems. The prices are probably a bit higher than if you did the shopping yourself, but if your factor in the opportunity cost of your time it's reasonable. I liked the fact that the prices are spelled out on their website, too.

The groceries were delivered at the exact time scheduled.

We use Wegoshop.com and never had any problems...

They are a bit different than gardengrocier.com because their prices are listed on the website... It's pretty simple though.. You make up a free form shopping list and send it to them... If you want a specific size, brand, price, specifiy it at that time.. Otherwise, you can take generics, etc.. Marge is great..

I would say it's worth the cost because:
1) You are on vacation, and who wants to spend the time to shop then...
2) If you do it on your own, you will have to contend with traffic and you may not know where to shop to get the best prices... Wegoshop shops all the local grocery stores and knows where all the best bargins are..

Service charges are clearly listed on the site..

Shop and Delivery Rates:
Grocery total up to $100.00 = $17.00 shop & delivery fee.
Grocery total between $100.00 - $200.00 = $22.00 shop & delivery fee.
Grocery total between $200.00 - $300.00 = $32.00 shop & delivery fee.
Grocery total over $300.00 = 12% of grocery total + $2.00, shop & delivery fee.

Additional Fees:
Due to the increased cost of gasoline, the above rates reflect an additional gasoline surcharge of $2.00 to all orders. This surcharge will be reduced if we are able to fulfill more than one client order per trip.

We used Gardengrocer.com last month. Everything was delivered without a hitch. We even added onto our order a couple of things that were not listed on the website. Cold items were packed in an insulated bag. Bread was not smashed -- a big pet peeve of ours. Nice communication with Brian -- a nice personal touch.

We look forward to using them again on a future trip!

We used Garden Grocer as well. We asked for Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls that weren't on the list and they were able to get them with no problem. We will definitely use them again!

I understand that greengrocer.com and wegoshop.com are good. We usually rent a car and go to the Publix on SR192. If you are using a car service, a lot of them will allow for a grocery stop if you make the arrangements beforehand.

We just got back last Fri and used Gardengrocer.com. Ordering was easy. Good website. Was to deliver between 4-6 on arrival date. Didn't happen. Called Brian at 6:30 - he answered - he apologized and would bring them right over. Said we were going to dinner and we would get them afterwards from bell services. Checked after dinner - still nothing. Took a walk and called again. Brain said he had just been there and dropped them off. He did. Everything was as promised. A little hitch but would use them again.

We've used wegoshop several times. I like that I can do a free form order and specify a brand or choose a generic. Marge did a great job and saved us money buying the specials and discount cards. You can choose which store you want or leave it up to Marge to decide. I wish she lived near me I would love to do this kind of shopping all year !

We used Garden Grocer a couple of weeks ago and were very pleased. We had a list of things that weren't on the website and e-mailed those. Everything was delivered right on time and to our room. Would definitely use them again.

Brian actually called us as we were ladning to tell us he was at our resort. Since we were not there we asked him to leave everything with bell service. When we got there everything was there in great condition. Like many others I added on items that wereen't on the website, and everything was there as promised A++++++
