DH and I are leaving in a week for our first trip home and now I am trying to decide whether to use the Grocery order form Member Services has or go thur GardenGrocer.

1. Member Serivces told me they put the groceries away if I go thur them but couldn't tell me if GardenGrocer does.

2. Member Services stated that I have to order one week before I arrive which would be today so I have to decide fast. Do I have to do the same for GardenGrocer?

Any comments about either would be great.

We usually use Wegoshop.com and have never had any problems...

1) Disney and Wegoshop will put your groceries in your fridge... (Not sure about non perishables though since they may not know which cupboard you want them to go..) I would imagine that Garden Grocier does the same, though I can't be sure..

2) I know for sure that if you want to be on the schedules for Wegoshop or Garden Grocier, you need to get your order in ASAP. Both services are EXTREMELY busy...

You didn't mention how much you were planning on buying... If you are going to buy a lot, you probabily want to go through one of the outside services... Disney charges a premium for groceries. (Especially when they are delivered to the room.) That extra %age really adds up on the bigger orders... However, with small orders, Disney can be ok since you can avoid the delivery fees from Garden Grocier or Wegoshop.

Personally, I would never have Disney deliver the groceries... Since I only get small orders from them, I drag the kids down to the store with me and have them help me lug the supplies back up to the room.. :rolleyes1

We have used GardenGrocer twice and will again. One trip we only needed milk and a few things, so we just used the resort store (got it ourselves). We like to get right to the parks, so we had GG leave our items with bell services since we were not there at delivery times. If you want meal items, you're going to want to go with GG or another. We got about $70 worth of groceries, so it was no big deal putting it away. Actually, we put the kids to work.:)

What about beer and wine, this will be my first trip without a car, we usually drive or fly and rent. This time I'm using DME.

I'm not sure about Disney... (There may be some rules with this where they have to verify that you are over 21..)

Wegoshop has a fairly flexible order form where you input what you want... If you have a cell phone with Nationwide coverage, Marge will call you while she is at the store to see if there's anything else you thought of... I've had her pick up beer and wine for me a few times without issue...

I have heard, but cannot verify, that Garden Grocier does the same...

We already had an order in place with GardenGrocer and read on this board that they also could deliver beer/wine - so I called.

While they do not advertise alcohol on their website, they will deliver that too. So we just added it to our order and it was delivered with the rest of our order.

GardenGrocer has a much larger selection than what is available at the resort store and the prices are also better. In the past we have purchased, milk, butter, bread, beer, fruit, cheese and other items at the resort store - but selection is very limited and prices are convenience store prices. That's fine if you need just a couple of items - but it you have a larger order, the delivery charge ($10) will be made up with the cost savings. (Delivery is free for orders over $200 too - minimum order is $40). The order was placed a few days prior to arrival and then we just called when we arrived at the resort and they delivered the groceries to our room 20 minutes later.

Thank you for all the replies. We did the order last night before reading about the liquor,,,hhmmmm might have to call later.
