I was talking to a former DVC member yesterday and she mentioned talking a cab down to Winn Dixie for only about $12. This was just a couple of years ago. I was going to go with Grocery Garden or WeGoShop and pay a fee but I believe that it now seems more than the taxi ride option.

Has anyone taken a cab to a local grocery store? Can you recall how much you spent round-trip for your cab ride or if any validate if they think it would be cheaper?

Thanks :)

I haven't taken a cab to a grocery store - but I did take a cab from the CR to BWV and paid $23.

Garden grocer has a $12 fee (minimum order $40), Wegoshop's is higher ($24 for up to $100 order), but you pay the actual store prices. I'm not sure if taking a cab would be cheaper, but personally, unless I were saving a good bit of money, I'd let a service take care of it.

I have used both WeGoShop and Garden Grocer. I would save the time and use a service again. Plus you can order ahead of time and have them deliver before you get there, that way you are not spending time at the grocery store instead of Space Mountain.

We took a taxi from SS to Winn Dixie in April and it was $20 each way with tip but well worth it to buy everything we needed in one trip to store.

Thank you all! It sounds like the way that we initally wanted to go is best. Now I just need to decide between the two!

There must be something different since WGS is twice as much for fee than GroceryGarden, right?! They are in competition so I would think there must be something with GG charging less?? hmmmm, maybe its that they cater to smaller orders? IDK.

We are going to be ordering at least $200 worth of food and supplies so we will be covered either way.

Thanks again for the info and I hope you are all enjoying your first official day of summer!

IMO Garden Grocer marks up the cost of each item, while at wegoshop you pay the actual store cost. Garden Grocer makes their money with higher cost items, wegoshop makes their money on delivery fees.

Thanks for that info Hopefully! Thats what I was thinking it must be. I think we will end up going with WeGoShop since we are going to be ordering so much!

We have tried all of the options and renting a car for the day is now our standard.

No order mistakes, no tipping of Bell Services or Bags employees to unload the car, and a tip and order fee for the delivery company.

We shop at Publix, Walmart, of if we have a large group, Costco.
