Wondering some of your thoughts on having items delivered to out resort room or maybe just packing an extra small suitcae with items. Can you do that? Was thinking about packing pudding, water, juice boxes, cracker packs, etc. Any thoughts?

We are staying in alligator Bayou at Port Orleans so not sure of the size of the refrig. There are 6 of us, myself DH and 4 DS's. They will want a lot of drinks, I'm sure and hate to pay for the drinks int he park all the time. I appreciate any advice...or thoughts... TIA

we just got home and used garden grocers to deliver to our room. this was the first trip without a car, so i was a little nervous about what to do about drinks and in room breakfast/snacks. i read good reviews on this site and everyone was right!! the service was quick and friendly and they even brought the items to our room and put them away (either on the table or in the fridge). the $10 fee was definitely worth it and it was a nice change to not have to drive to the store and go shopping while on vacation!!

We had water delivered to POR on Tuesday (free shipping) and we will be going there tomorrow. I also had packed a small duffel bag filled with snacks that we were going to put into checked baggage. DH was browsing Southwest's website and saw in the checked baggage section to avoid food and drink items. So we now are doing it in a carryon. Check out your airline's website before you go so you know what to do.

FYI: I don't know when you are leaving for your trip but as of right now you can't take any forms of liquid in your carry on bags. That inlcudes pudding, jello, juice boxes, etc. :sad2: They will make you throw it away. If you aren't planning taking those type of items you will be OK. I would think items such as crackers and snack cakes would be ok, but not to sure. Here is the link for it:

This is going to be an inconvience for us having a 2 year old since we won't be able to take his cup of juice on board. But I am planning on taking his empty cup on and hopefully the airline will give us some juice or milk for him before takeoff.

We're packing a suitcase of food. Then it will be empty by the time we leave and we'll either fill it with souveniers or dirty clothes :)

If you sign up for Staples Reward program (which is free) they give you free shipping. I am planning on using them for our trip, at least for bottled water. I am also shipping a box down. I looked at the grocery service and figured out that the stuff I need I can buy here cheaper and send it down, then what they would charge me to buy the items and deliver it to our room.

I have heard great things about the grocery store though. I would look to see if they have the items you want. I have a 2 1/2 year old still in diapers so I need diapers, swimmies and wipes. I thought there prices were high. They maybe the cost if I bought them here at a grocery store, but I normally get all that stuff at BJs.

This is our first trip where we are flying, I don't think we could handle towing around another suitcase or else I would just bring it down with us.

I would re- think that :( You are not allowed to bring liquids, jells or paste onboard. Check out SWA website for details:

I used wegoshop in October 05 and May 06 and they were great. Our flight arrived late and everything was waiting for us at bell services. I found it was worth the delivery fee. FWIW wegoshop will delivery beer and wine where some of the others will not, may make a difference for some.

We used garden grocer and it was great. I too wouldn't pack food anymore with all the new restrictions. Also drinks are very heavy, and you wouldn't want to pay for an overweight bag. The delivery service was easy, reasonably priced and convenient.

We are also packing a suitcase full of food (pop tarts, mini bags of chips, mini cereals, etc. ) in an extra suitcase and then using it for souvenirs on the return. We will buy things like milk, juice, and other perishables when we get there. It seems we never have enough luggage space on the return trip so this is a perfect solution for us.

Thanks for the great advice. I hadn't even thought about the weight and the new restrictions. My two obessions are DISNEY and couponing so wanted to use my couponing to save $ and still take what we need. Guess I'll go the route of ordering some things though. Thanks again!

Another vote for gardengrocer! You can't beat $3.99 for a 12 pack of Dasani water!
