We are staying at the VGC in January for 4 nights. Are there basic groceries available on site, or anywhere close by, we don't mind a walk? We would only be needing bread, milk, yogurts, cheese, that kind of thing for breakfasts and an odd snack.

Thanks.

Wonderland Market isn't too far and we found quite alot of staples there. 1178 W Katella, free delivery, 714-535-0127

I 2nd Wonderland Market. We had a not so great experience with Vons and my husband ended up walking to Wonderland Market, then used them a few more times for deliveries during the week. Great service and much better pricing then at Whitewater Snacks...

and of course there are basic groceries on property...when we traveled in February we just ordered some really basic stuff right there and had them delivered to the room!!!

I believe that the small market they have at Whitewater snacks (onsite) has everything you've listed you want. Definitely milk, bread, yogurt and cereals, jam, coffee and juice. I think they have cheese also. And fruit like bananas, apples and cut up melon.

Do they have the all important wine at Wonderland Market? We too will be going to VGC in January. We won't have a car and will need some necessities like bread, milk and WINE!!!!!:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

Wonderland Market does have beer/wine.liquor. There is also an ABC store on Harbor.

We just got back from VGC. We ordered groceries from Vons including wine. Because we were ordering from them for the first time the delivery was free. The only catch to ordering from Vons is if you order alcohol you must be available to sign for it when it is delivered. Bell services will not sign for it. However bell services will store everything for you including all of your cold/frozen stuff in a refridgerator. When your room is ready or when you get back to your room you give them a call and they bring it up. It was very convenient and much cheaper that buying at VGC.

White Water Snacks is VERY limited in what they offer. You can see examples of their prices and offerings at our trip report here.

Thanks for the link. It was all very interesting. The shop items do look a little pathetic!!! Fortunately we will only want some bread and milk plus a few extra bits. We won't be cooking for sure. We aren't adverse to walking off the a market/store for a larger selection if needs be though. Two of the places look within walking distance and we are used to walking.
