Looking for best grocery shopping in Aulani. Will be hitting Costco, but for those smaller batches of meat and produce, where is the best spot? Last time I went to Walmart but they have limited selection.

We went to Safeway for smaller batches of meat and produce. They had a better selection than Target for us.

We got all our groceries at Safeway since there were only two of us for four days and DW has some very specific dietary restrictions that were easier to meet.

I just got back from Aulani and there's a great Foodland down the street from Costco. They have an entire counter devoted to poke, if you're into seafood. And they have a great wine selection if you are into that. But also fresh meat counter.

I wrote a review for this on Yelp, if you're curious.

We were only 3 people and did very little cooking (by choice) and found everything we needed for the week at the Target. We considered Costco but just didn't need any one thing in such large quantities. We did breakfasts in and tho we bought enough stuff for a couple of days of lunches ended up only really making sandwiches on 1 day. We used the remaining lunchmeat and cheese rolled up in little appetizer style wraps that we ate for a snack by the pool. It was just hard for me to get into the cooking mode there...

Was curious if anybody had shopped at Don Quijote on the way from the airport? they have a store right off H1, and the ad looks to have some good deals, and you don't have to be a "club card" member like you do at safeway to get some of the deals...

Thoughts on the store? worth stopping there first? just curious.

How do the meat prices compare to the states? one of the things were planning on doing, at least a couple times, is use the Barbecue's that are available at Aulani...

Its about 1 or 2 dollars more (at least) for most items.

We spend 10 days there and my family by far enjoyed walking across the street to the strip mall and eating with the locals. They also have an ABC grocery store it's pricey but in waling distance.

I highly recommend Foodland! Foodland is Hawaii's version of Safeway/Albertsons. There is one near the Safeway area. My wife and I went there for Poke, Rice, and other groceries.

We were only four, but got shrimp, pineapple, salad material, vegies, beer, pog juice, macadamia nuts, taro chips and alchohol for the stay, (5 nights) all at Costco. Got bread, cold cuts, smaller snacks, bag of coffee, and some smaller vegies at Safeway.

Foodland will give you 5 cents off each reusable bag you bring in and use, plus from now til June 30 it's 5% off on Thursdays for anyone over age 60. They also have printable coupons from their website and you can use multiple coupons on each item.
