Grizzly River Run

How intense is this ride? My DD is just 42", well, alittle taller, maybe 43". How is the seats? Do you stay secure in them or are your straped in or something? We are staying at the GCH so I'm planning on us going to ride it during our pool time so it doesn't matter if we get wet. DD loves space, splash, TOT and Matterhorn, if that helps for the ride scariness aspect.

If she loves all those ones, she'll be fine on GRR. It's fun & not TOO wild. Each seat has a separate seat belt- an actual belt, so she'll be just fine!

We rode last year, and my DD was just turning 7. She is a little small for her age and loved Grizzly River Run! We went about 4 times in a row. The first time, we wore ponchos and then she ripped hers off to fully be part of the ride and get wet. There is a seat belt in the bench. She didn't fly around the seat at all. She says it is her favorite ride at DCA. Enjoy! It truly is fun.

I'd be more concerned with how she feels about getting soaked. This isn't like Splash Mountain. Yes, water splashes up but they can sometimes adjust to have lots of water squirt at you from overhead and the sides. If she doesn't mind having the water directed right at her, and no way to avoid it, then she'll have a blast.

I agree with PP that it is tamer than some of the other rides. My DD was 5 the first time we rode and she would have gone on over and over until she turned blue if we let her. I don't particularly like roller coasters but the drops on GRR aren't too bad. The seats feel pretty secure.

My kids LOVE GRR, and have since they were tall enough to go on it. It's not intense at all, IMO. Compared even to Goofy's Sky School, it's pretty tame. As PPs have said, if your DD likes to get soaked, she will love it! (Though she may be disappointed because you don't always get soaked.)

There are separate seat belts, but I do like to keep a hand on my 40 lb. 6 year old. He is taller than your DD but skinny, and the lap belt doesn't go tight enough on him. He has flown around in the seat before - especially during big bumps - I don't think he could get out even though the belt isn't totally snug but I still like to keep a hand on him.

We rode this about 4 times in a row one year and I would consider the water factor. You can get just a few drops on you or you can walk off the ride and wring out your clothes. You never know. Make sure she is ok with that and that you have extra shoes and socks to change into.

There is a seat belt and she will be just fine. One of my daughters did have a problem when she took a direct hit from overhead and almost lost her glasses. It was an OMG moment as she has a difficult prescription.

My other daughter doesn't really like when she is going down the slope backwards.

Our last trip, we had someone lose their mickey ears. They floated themselves right behind us and a CM had to get their go-go-gadget pinchers to fish it out at the end of the ride.
