Grizzly River Run

i have yet to seen the gyser shoot up when i am on GRR, let alone like spray me--i heard it sprays you. of course just my luck! nether the less GRR has to be *the* Funnest water ride EVER! :woohoo: i love the drop at the end! i live for that drop! :yay:

Rest assured..............they still work!!! I'm proof of that ;) We just returned from Disneyland this past Saturday and me, hubby and our 2 children....ages 12 & 14 rode on Grizzly River Run..........I didn't want to because I remember from the year before..........getting soaked but they convinced me & guess what???????????? Deja-vu!!!! I was soaked again and NOT from the normal ride but at the end...........I managed to only have a tiny bit of drops for the whole ride until the end..................then the geyser just happened to shoot up as we went by and it SOAKED me to the bone:rotfl: I was drenched from head 2 toe...................Needless to say.......I wasn't a happy camper and went back to the Grand Californian, our hotel to change.........Now though...................I can laugh about it:lmao: It is all a matter of timing though. It probably doesn't always do it & that is why you perhaps haven't had it do it on your visits. Must be random:confused3 Have fun on your vacation & I hope your child gets their wish of the geyser going up when y'all ride :thumbsup2 I miss Disneyland so much already :sad2:

The geysers were definitely on this weekend. They were not on during our February or April trips. One of the boys on our raft got soaked by it as we were going by.

I am with the majority that it depends on temperature and crowd level whether they are on or not.

Grizzly River Run looks allot like Kali River Rapids at AK, which means we won’t be riding. I guess we just don’t want to be thoroughly soaked while at the parks. A little wet i.e. Splash Mountain is one thing, but completely drenched is another. I think Disney has made a tremendous mistake with these 2 attractions (GRR & KRR). KRR really isn't that much fun, other than the anticipation of who in your ride vehicle is getting completely drenched and who is only getting real wet.

I think you would have a lot of people argue with this. My nephew went on that ride 14 times in a row. I think they finally kicked him off:)

We like the attraction. The theming is fun, the ride is fun. We always meet and talk with interesting people. There aren't very many attractions where that can happen.

Like always, there is something for everyone at the parks, but I would seriously argue that Disney makes very few "tremendous mistakes"

:)party:from my little guy.

Grizzly certainly has one thing going for it that Kali does not..... It' s situated mere yards from the doors to a Disney hotel. If you're staying at the GC, you can just duck inside and change. A stroke of genius on the part of Disney planners!

Or, if it's a hot sunny Cali afternoon, you can stand in the sun for 5 minutes and be completely dry, then do it all over again. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

That's really good to know. We're staying at the GC and that might be a mind changer when we're heading back to our hotel at the end of the day.
