ye, bye Condor Flats...Hello Grizzly Peak Airstrip
Looks like yesterday's Miceage article was RIGHT on the money with the Condor Flats redo. The land is now officially becoming an extension of the Grizzly Peak land as that part of the park will become one forested land themed to a vintage national park.

These are pictures I saw this morning from @SasakiTime on Twitter. (Can't seem to put pics from my iPhone)

I am SO excited this is finally happening! There has been murmurs of it happening for years and I've posted threads in the past with ideas on how and why they should do this retheme, so it's awesome to see it coming to fruition.

I'm curious how they will incorporate all the buildings into the new theme, especially Soarin's queue. A precious Miceage article mentioned the whole queue would be returned, so I guess we gotta wait for either artwork to come out or the finished product.

I absolutely love this change! As a big fan of National Parks and Disney, I love the theming. :thumbsup2

That sign is patterned after a USDA Forest Service sign in a rounded trapezoid with partial script lettering, like this one:

There are variations on the theme of rounded corners, including ones that aren't rounded trapezoids, like this one:

I remember in Planes: Fire and Rescue, the sign was similarly odd since it looked like a Forest Service sign with the rounded corners.

This area has been begging for a remodel since Carsland came about. I'm glad to see Disney doing it & I hope they put the funds & time into doing it right. We've got a great chance as it seems they want everything in tip top shape for the 60th. Fingers crossed!

DCA should be renamed Disney American Adventure. Cars land is really a Southwest themed area. With Soarin changing, so should the whole park.

I'm excited for more changes in DCA, whatever they may be (unless they all involve Frozen, in which case I will have a problem). Because -- in my mind -- it is still a very new/young park, I think there is a lot of untapped potential there, and DCA is still finding its way, in a sense. Buena Vista Street and Cars Land really helped to give it more depth, personality and heart, of course, and they were steps in the right direction, but I think there is more that can be done.
