Gringott's Wait Times Update

We will be at universal RPR the same time as you then moving to AKL (sat the 16 th)
Also a Disney girl/universal novice. ;)

Have a great time - may our waits be short. :goodvibes

LOL, that's too funny, great minds think alike! Yes may our waits be short!

This is just a trip with my son. We have a family tradition, 12th birthday means a Mom and Me trip. I have 2 older girls and their trips were so much fun but they chose Discovery Cove as their extra to Disney. My son is a HP fan and so here we are going to Universal and not knowing much about what to expect.

For anyone that is there: please update some ideas of wait times for express pass for some of the longer line rides (Minions, Transformers, etc.). Thanks!

Minions tonight around 5pm was about a 40 minute wait. I saw there was a place in the express line close to the area to get on the ride, where they were letting people with "gold" passes in - so no wait at all for them. The tm told me they had gold passes, anyway. I noticed several people entering there. A couple of wheelchairs as well.

So, someone at the HRH told us to get to IOA at early opening, then get into line for HOgwarts train, which he said starts at 7:45 am. Well, they did not allow lining up early and it didn't run until park opening at Universal Studios anyway, which was 8am early entry. So, when we finally got to Diagon Alley it was a 90 min wait for Gringotts. Then while in line it breaks down. Didn't end up riding.

Don't go into IOA thinking you will take Hogwarts Express to get a jump on people. Just go and line up at Universal about 45 mins before they open for early entry. That's my plan for tomorrow, anyway.

We arrived for early entry both Monday and Tuesday around 7:10. I wouldn't plan to arrive much later than that. In fact, I'd suggest by 7. Throngs keypt developing after that. One morning we got off by 8:45, and the other, we stepped off around 8:20. After, we enjoyed Diagon Alley (very empty) until around 9. It's spectacular. We spent a large portion of three days there.

As for the rest of the park - stay away from the Minions and Shrek after lunch. Both, we waited over 40 minutes - even with the Express passes. Both were not great.

In fact, the middle of the day, I'd stay away from everything with any wait. After dinner, we FLEW through the lines.

We had three days.

First day, Forbidden Journey at open.
Second, Gringotts.
Third, Gringotts.

Both days, the ride had significant backup and issues. The 'elevators' were completely broken the first day - one was just open to walk from one side to the other.

The second day, one was working. We stepped in, and it simulated going down into the depths. Cool idea. But was sorta wrecked by the previous day. Both days had significant breakdowns. Worth the wait. Fun.

But Diagon Alley is breathtaking.
