Gringotts Needs Work

Rode Gringotts for a third time today. The effects seemed to worsen with each ride. The voice recording did not match the actors...kinda like an old Bruce Lee movie. Surround sound, fog and other effects not working. Definitely a lot of new technology that appears to need a lot more time to perfect.

Yup. Seems like they are continually working on it. Hopefully they get it figured out soon.

I felt the same way. It was hard to understand what they were saying and hard to follow the story.

Sounds like the ghost of Jaws 1.0 is haunting Gringotts and it may take an early shutdown or rehab to rework the attraction into Gringotts 2.0. The original Jaws on this site went through a complete rebirth to become a great classic Universal attraction, so there’s hope that Gringotts will become the great ride experience that HP2 needs it to be.

G’day

No fog on our rides today. Everything else is perfect. It's a lot better than grand opening.

Rode it this evening. Elevator not working and the voice synchronization on the ride was way off again. Thought it may have been an off day yesterday, but seems to be a major problem. Six total rides with only a couple where the voices were somewhat in sync.

Even though the ride needs work, it is still amazing. Universal has truly outdone themselves with this one.

Absolutely. We walked by tonight and it was 45 min wait.

I wonder if some of the show element are being hopefully temporarily let slip while they continue to work on getting the ride up to full capacity with no e-stops. Then once the ride system is running smoothly, they'll bring the show elements back and back into sync.

Makes sense. Sounds like they are working on it continually. Just seems like there are so many elements to coordinate.

I don't think so ... I doublet they are intentionally shutting off effects. More like the effects just had issues. But that doesn't mean they aren't working and tweaking it.

Maybe this will be another Expedition Everest and certain things will never work properly. Six months from now, you'll be in your ride vehicle cruising by a strobe light Harry Potter.

We just got back and rode it 6 times while there. There was one issue in one scene with the voice sync during all of our rides. The water effect never worked but the fog effect worked every time.

It's an awesome ride, BTW. :thumbsup2

Are the wait times any better recently? We'll be there in 2 weeks.

The wait times are really low during the week...as low as 15 mins, but still 60+ on the weekends. I just walked by and it said 60 minutes. Crowds this evening were insane and shoulder to shoulder. I would do as much as possible during the week and EPA is great.
