We got up early for Gringotts yesterday, got to UO at 6:25, lines were out to the ticket windows. We picked the wrong line to wait in, avoid the first 3 rows from the center on each side. Once we finally got in the park, the line to DA started by fear factor. We had a 45 minute wait for Gringotts when we made the line to it just before 7. The wait would have really been closer to 15-20, but the ride broke down twice while we waited so it took just over an hour. They were telling guests it was a 4 hour wait when we got off.
Our family all gave the ride itself a thumbs down. I think they were trying to incorporate the very best features of several rides, but it just wasn't worth the wait to us. The screens were incredible, the quality of the videos is almost unreal. I did have some problems with the audio, but I can't hear very well anyway. My daughter thought it was hard to understand also though.
Universal has proven that they know more about themeing an area than anyone else on the planet. The experience and detail throughout the area is just incredible.
We walked into the Leaky Cauldron for breakfast at 8:15 without a reservation. It was empty, only a few tables with people, so we got right in. $15 a person for a basic scrambled egg, bacon, potato plate with a croissant. Neat to see, but at that price we would pass next time.
One last observation at Universal about the new Beetlejuice graveyard review. We all miss the old show. The new show is ok, we liked the old songs better.
Just our opinions,
Mark
