Gringotts - AM or PM on HHN

I have a specific question, several planning sites have suggested touring Gringotts in the evening vs first thing in the am. I haven't read any updated touring plans that account for the early closing due to HHN. I'm headed to universal (just the UO side) on a HHN night. We are not staying on site but willing to rope drop. Do we tour Gringotts right away at park open or closer to closing at 5? Or do you think the crowds are going to be lower & it won't really matter when we tour?

Driving home now from universal. I recommend riding it as soon as you can if you see wait under 45 minutes. Mainly because ride was constantly down. We never got to ride it. Wait was an hour Saturday before Hhn. Also an hour Friday even though raining. Biggest thing was how often it was down.. Must have went over there 6 times over last 5 days. 4 of times ride was down. Then wait would jump to 45 minutes when it went back up, had ride not malfunctioned do much. WAits would have been much shorter. You run the risk of not riding it if you wait till
Late in day and it goes down

Wwohp is open or was open during a few days ago during hhr nights it's the only part of the park that is. I'm not sure they are making big announcements about it as it was a huge surprise when we were there. If you have a park to park ticket you can get a wrist band and stay in that section of the park til the the time IOA closes When I was there the only place I saw wrist bands being passed out was at the train station near the end of normal park hours check when you go if they are doing it still

Thank you so much for your insight. Every since you posted, I've been checking the Touring Plans/Lines app. Right now gringotts is closed. so great advice. This is what I will be doing. I'm a bit nervous now about the ride being closed & really this is the only reason we are going to UO. We just visited both parks 2 years ago. Thanks again!

Oh site got here 6:45 rode ride awesome awesome best dark ride I have ever been on.. 7:40 back on line gotta ride again... Do AM yesterday lines were 60-80 min all day...

WOW! What a great tip, thanks for sharing! We will be there Sun-Mon the last week of October and I am a huge HP fan, so will be spending most of our time in WWOHP while we're there.

Not tonight they didn't potter was locked up and they had no one in there after 5 pm.

Yeah, I don't think they're doing it anymore. Yesterday afternoon around 5:30, I was standing near the entrance to IOA and a man with a blue wrist band comes up to me complaining that he was kicked out of Universal even though he had the band. He was not happy. I pointed him in the direction of guest relations.

Didn't have the heart to tell him I didn't work there.

Today was our Universal day. First, we arrived around 820 am, park opened at 8. We walked to Diagon alley first. We waited about 45-50 minutes. Queue line was great, ride was good. (Still prefer forbidden journey)
At 345 (universal closed at 5pm today) we decided to buy the upgraded park to park pass. we bought our passes at Kings cross. At 400ish pm, they had blocked the street right by kings cross. it appeared that they prohibiting people from entering unless they had a park to park pass. People with park to park passes were being given blue wristbands, they were being told they could stay in diagon alley until 6. (A previous poster mentioned DA was locked up by 5, so who knows what transpired between 4 & 5. (I spoke to one of the cast members who was directing the foot traffic in that area. )
We inquired about the earlier episode of DA staying open until 8pm. The cast member we spoke to acknowledged it had happened but it didn't work out the way universal expected...so the idea of staying open in DA until 8 was "canceled" her exact word.

It sounds like UO is trialing different things to see what works best.
Hope in 2 weeks, DA stays open during HHN when we are there!
