I visited Grinchmas at IOA yesterday and I was pretty impressed. Seuss Landing is decked out in Christmas decorations. It seems like every inch of Seuss Landing has something Christmasy on it.

There's a stage show that tells the story of how the Grinch stole Christmas. Last year, the story was divided up into 3 Acts of 15 minutes each. This year, Universal has combined all 3 acts into 1. The show is about 20 minutes long and runs a lot smoother. The best part of the show is the preshow. There's a great doo-wop a capella act that sings Christmas music. It's entertaining and toe-tapping. It's also a good reason to see all the shows since the act does a different set before each show.

After the first show, you can see the Whoville residents and the Grinch wandering around Seuss Landing. They'll pose for photos and sign autographs. The funniest thing was seeing the Grinch. He was running all over Seuss Landing and dug through garbage cans. He even took a ride on the Cat in the Hat! The policewoman was also in the Cat in the Hat helping load ride vehicles.

All in all, it was a good time.

Thanks for the report Barry. I can't wait all this info is just adding to our excitement.

if you go during the last week of the year, expect to see whos all over seuss landing at almost any given time of the day(until the last show, of course).

it'll be VERY busy, but you'll be staying on-site, right? anyway, you'll love the way Grinchmas is loaded with whos then. heh, last year i remember several whos riding Mt Crumpit Snow Plummet solo, with other whos, and with guests-children of course ;)

We will be at PBH it's our first chrismtas trip EVER! We are so excited and we have triplets that are 2.5 and 10 yo girls. They will love all this not to mention the grown ups are thrilled as well. Does anyone have any pictures there willing to share of previous years? BTW DM you agree that the New York area were Kong was is a great place to watch the parade from? And do we know about a starting time and length of the parade yet?

Thanks that was cool. I was worried at first when I saw that name nwothunder. I had visited his sites before and gotten numerous pop ups but not with your link.

yes. the parade starts near twister and will wrap around mel's and end at the macy's facade. so the kong building would be a great area to watch. the parade will start around 5p (dusk) each day. there will also be macy's merchandise available at the Universal Christmas Store (across from Monsters Cafe). Santa will also be available to meet from 10a-6p at the old IOA preview center.

the old ioa preview center is right where the entrance of kong used to be, to the left...it's now called Santa's Winterland or something like that, the parade is going to start by the soundstages portal right next to twister, and it will end in front of macys like it was previously said, can't wait till friday

Glad that you liked it Barry. I enjoyed it too. I did not see it last year so I have nothing to compare to but I really enjoyed the show. Did you go into the Grinch's Lair and get your pic taken with him?

We went this past weekend. The show is adorable...and then we went through the Grinch's Lair...to get a picture with him. They had a great deal going on for annual passholders if you bought your pictures...buy three sheets, get one free with a discount on top of that...so 4 sheets of photos came out to $25.40 including tax. The pictures are excellent....max is even in them. The grinch is a riot...cracked us up.

Buttons to press all through his house to make things happen...very funny.

Enjoy!
