Grilling CM's about BLT

Just got back from a quick visit to WDW and made sure to ask as many CM's as possible about what they knew regarding the Contemporary. The responses were everything from- "What? You mean the giant Walmart?" to "Disney won't let any of us know until an hour before they announce it to the world- they like to keep the Disney magic in the announcement for all of us". I did have the opportunity to speak to a guide, though, and while I was looking at the AKV models, I was saying, "I REALLY want to see what's behind those doors across the hall" and "It must drive all of you guides crazy not to be able to talk about the Contemporary", etc, to which the guide replied (to EVERYTHING I said, in exactly the same monotone) "I don't know what you're talking about". But what I thought was really interesting was that when we came out of the models into the hallway, he said, "Don't make a right because there's nothing to see behind THAT door" and then he said to me about 4 times, "The month of July has the best weather for visiting WDW". So, I'm just wondering, has anyone else gotten a cryptic hint that Disney might be spilling the beans in July?

By the way, one CM was either completely clueless or totally full of ****- she informed me that SSR sold out in less than 1 year and all hotels would have DVC in them one day, including the AllStars, except for the Polynesian because the Poly is not owned by Disney.

Love your clueless CM story, BTW!

A guide (who shall go unnamed) that I met with in May 2008 told me that the BLT would be announced in July 2008. We are all hearing reports of the same from CM's and guides (in broad hints). DVC wanted to complete SSR sales then immediately launch BLT sales - and that date is fast approaching.

We just got back from WDW this afternoon. While in MK I struck up a conversation with a CM who is from the same town as my SIL. I asked about the Contemporary DVC and while she said there were no announcements she did hint that there would be a July announcement. I believe what she said was that SSR would sell out by the end of this month and it was a very exciting time for DVC. She kept saying that over and over which I know doesn't sound like much when I type it, but her tone and facial expressions said a lot. DH and I actually went to the presentation while at MK (it coincided perfectly with DS's nap time and was a nice air conditioned place to let him get a good one in), but decided not to buy in since we'd really prefer the Contemporary.

What are the popular opinions for the point structure of the DVC at the Contemporary? I assume they reveal the point tables when they announce a new DVC?

Well, we are in the world right now. A DVC cast member said this was the best time to buy in. The points are not going to be any cheaper. Saratoga is days from selling out............Jump now before the price goes up. The cast member did say that you know when Hawaii is up for sale it won't be this affordable............

A coworked purchased yesterday. We wre talikign at the end of year dinnner dance and both he and his wife had no idea what Imeant when I said home resort. ANyway, he said their points were at Saratoga sSprings and he was told theyonly had three contracts with February use year left and would be sold out befor ehte end of the month. He asked where my contract was and I smaile and said that I have three contracts VWL, BCV and AKL. He couldn't understand why I would want a bunch of smaller 100-210 point contracts until I explained home resort and the 11 month booking window.

I just got back from WDW on Thursday. I signed up to do my first open house tour as we are not members. The guy at the sign up counter said he had no idea what I was talking about. As if the building did not even exist. The bus driver said it was going to be DVC, but again that was the "bus driver"! My guide was very helpful and I enjoyed the open house tour very much. The AKL models are gorgeous. I need to convince DH. Part of me wants to wait for the BLT though. My guide did tell me that DVC was experiencing a lot of growth, but that was all he was able to say at this time.

I don't believe the CM, guides or anyone not at a top level in the DVC chain has any more knowledge than the DIS. Disney simply isn't telling folks anything.

Any hints about "secret doors" and "being busy in July" is just the CM blowing smoker, or making guesses based on rumors they've read on the intenet.

Does BLT stand for Bay Lake Towers? If so, where is the second one? If I recall, when I boated past it in April, it was one big chunk. It definitely doesn't look like a single tower to me, let alone two.

I liked the original name better.

We will be there from July 13 - 18th. Not that I plan to buy into BLT, but it would be great to see the new models. Hopefully they will be available then.

• Exisiting DVC Owners to get mailed notice of sales 1 week earlier.
• SSR has Waiting Lists for all UYs except December.
• AKV Phase I almost completely sold out.
• AKV Phase II June UY sold out.
• Treehouse villas are currently part of SSR's holdings.
• Big Secrets what's happening with THVs. Maybe stop-gap sales until BLT sales (thus BLT after July 1, or more likely, after BLT sells out in expected 6-9 months!!!
• California already considering expansion options. -Studios only at Paradise Pier???
• CM DVC Discount will be disappearing entirely within the next 12 months.
• Training has not yet begun to sell BLT, and they HATE the name too.
• Expect BLT to be 100% DVC
• Do not expect major incentives, certainly no developer points as we current know(and hate) them!
• No price-per-point or points-per-night chart available yet!

On our trip a few weeks ago I asked the Security CM at the Contemp "what they were building over there" and he flat out told us that the new building was a DVC resort called Kingdom Towers (this was before the change to BLT). He also told us that it would be open in 2009.

Our guide of course won't confirm or deny anything but has been informed of our interest if that "big parking garage" by the Contemp is ever converted to apartment like units and offered up for points for sale.

the guides have been told no summer vacation after June. the only thing that far along is BLT.

hey that is just the annoucement - nothing is say about the point charts.

would love them first - but hey AKV was selling for what about 2 months before the points chart.

let us hope that BLT is better - what have we been waiting for....

do you know how disappointment I am going to be if this is part of CR and not a DVC resort.....

oh well July is not long.
