Anyone ever stayed at Greystone Lodge at the Aquarium in Gatlinburg? If so, give me some insight if it is nice and close enough to walk to some of the attractions. Also if you have any other recommendations on places to stay let me know. Thanks.
We just got back from Gatlinburg yesterday. The Greystone Lodge looked nice from the outside, but we never went in it. It is a good location if what you want to do is see the shops and the aquarium. There is a trolley for 50 cents a person that takes you all over which worked out good for us.
We stayed at a fantastic cabin in Pigeon Forge, right near Dollywood and Splash Country. It is probably 4-5 miles from Gatlinburg. I actually preferred the Pigeon Forge area actually, if the truth be told.
Stayed last fall for our honeymoon. The rooms were just re-done in 2004. It's by no means a 5 star hotel but very nice, good location, price is right also. We walked to everything we wanted in Gatlinburg from it. It's next door to Ripleys and the trolley station.
PS - Try the Peddler, Brass Lantern, and Legends by Max if you eat out.
