Hi, everyone.

I've been using the DIS boards for months, but I just discovered this board. How cool! I'm glad I found it.

I've been struggling with eating problems all my life. I recently read a book that has changed everything for me. Wow, had I ever been barking up the wrong tree in trying to deal with my problem! I might discuss this book here once I gauge if that is appopriate for this board.

My eating is now 100% under control. Unfortunately, as I'm sure many of the people on this board know, once the eating is under control, there's a big lag until the weight becomes under control. The good news: I've lost 35 pounds recently. The bad news: That's just a drop in the bucket compared to what I need to lose.

Well that's it for now. Mostly, I just wanted to introduce myself. I now want to go read what everyone else has to say, and I'll come back and share more of my story at some point.

I'm glad to hear you feel like you've got your eating under contol--that's almost the whole battle!

I know you're new here, but feel free to share as much of your story, opinions, and methods here as you feel comfortable. We're all in this together and everyone's coming at this from a different perspective--we've got people who struggle with the same 10 pounds, and folks that need to lose 200 pounds. We've got emotional eaters, folks struggling with eating disorders, and people who just picked up some bad habits over the years. We all belong and all support each other, and you are very, very welcome to join in!

Great job with starting! The hardest part is admitting to yourself that you need to make a change.

I just wanted to make a quick post to thank everyone for the encouragement. I was delighted to see that people read my initial entry. I've been reading a number of the other journals. I'm planning on writing some more about my own experiences soon - certainly by the weekend. In the meantime, stay well, everyone.
