Greetings to all, wish you were, honest.

We checked in on Friday night, we are in a studio that overlooks the canal facing the main DVc bbuildings. So far we love this resort. I think it will be spectacular once it is finished. The furnishing are beautiful and the grounds are just gorgeous. No problems so far except that unless a room opens up for tommorow night we have to move over to the Beach Club. Hoping not to do that, but there who complains about staying at the Beach Club...

Lots of severs thunderstorms daily so far. Over 16,000 lightening strikes on Friday, that's air to ground, not just in the sky.

It's late I am hitting the hay, but wanted to say hello and report that it is fun being at SSR even though it is not completed.

Lots of new DVC merchandise, new to me anyway, notecubes and some ladies shirts and other stuff. Also some nice Saratoga merchandise.

Will write more later, just wanted to touch base.

Thanks for checking in while you're still on vacation! I saw where they've been having hot, stormy weather. Have fun.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know. I bet the resort is going to be beautiful when it is completed. I want to see some of the merchandise they have there now.. I'll have to wait til next may when we go down...

HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP!!!

AWESOME thanks so much fopr the live report I hope the storms stop for you guys. The view must be awesome! Have fun!

I wish we were there, too! Thanks for telling us how nice it is, and I hope the weather calms down for you all.

Very hot yesterday and today. Storms bad enough to almost cancel Fantasmic last night and enough drizzle for Mickey to sell a ton of ponchos, but the show did go on.

Today it is just plain hot and almost no breeze at all.

We are now at BCV, so I can make a pretty true comparison with both fresh in my mind.

Keep in mind we had studios at both resorts. I love the full length mirror on the bathrom door at SSR. The lighting there is very bright, including around the vanity. The exhaust fan in the bathroom has a sensor that has a little strobe on it--as soon as someone enters the bathroom, it comes on itself. Very few dislikes. I did note that if you are taking the elevator, you have a bit of a walk to the far end of the building, or to the middle for that fact if that is where your room is. The only ice and vending is on the first floor. We are big ice people, so we did pay attention to that. They have the new mini-fridges with the holder in the door for cans, nice. The common hallways are different, a little more closed in than OKW, which would be good when raining. I did not notice an extraordinary amount of bugs/insects as reported by someone else.

BCV - did not find any trash or any real problems here except for no remote in the room and the handle missing from shower. YOu can still turn it on, just looks and feels funny. We are on the first floor looking out into what I call the swamp, and I much prefer that to a higher swamp view. We came straight from SSR to BCV around 9:00 or so and had a room right away. Love walking right to EPCOT. Came back and took a dip in the quiet pool.

Now we are off to California Grill for an anniversary dinner.

Almost forgot, when we got back to SSR yesterday afternoon, there were balloons and a lovely picture from Mickey and Minnie wishing us Happy Anniversary. When we came back from MGM later that evening, there was another round of balloons and a different card. We got a good chuckle out of that.

O.K. will touch base later. Glad to answer any questions.

Thanks for all the info, always great to get another POV.

So glad to hear you are having a good time! We are scheduled to go home in January to SSR. Seeing as you are staying in both locations....... I value your opinion.

We are considering switching our reservations from SSR to BCV. SSR is brand spanking new, has a great pool, is totally our style, and seems really nice. But BCV are w/in walking distance to 2 parks and there's SAB. We have 50 yrs to stay at SSR and so we feel we should try staying elsewhere while we still can and there is still lots of construction and maybe some bugs to work out there, but it's new and I so want to go there.

What would you suggest? I'd be interested to know.

Thanks ahead of time for your opinion. Hope the weather gets better and I hope the rest of your vacation is wonderful. Thanks for keeping in touch w/ us.

Our studio looked over the canal too - enjoy your stay, wish we were there as well!!!

Thanks for the reports! sounds like it is really great! We are heading to VWL in about a monthe! Can't wait...we will have to consider SSR for another trip!

Congratulations on your anniversary! We celebrated our anniversarylast month at OKW. Prince Charming & Cinderella sent us an autographed photo & some balloons. It was neat - I'll probably frame the photo!

Enthusiast, I understand your dilemma. We are booked to go back to SSR in Oct, and I am so glad of that as I did not get enough of the resort this time. I would say depending on how often you come to WDW might help make your decision. If you are comoing back fairly soon, go ahead and stay at BCV. If not, you would probably be wishing the whole time you were at SSR. Also, keep in mind we are two adults, without any kids with us. If SAB is a big draw to you, that would make a difference too. We enjoyed the quiet pool yesterday, just wanted to cool off.

One more thing I liked about SSR was the ottoman in the studio, rather than a table. It sure was comfortable for my tired feet and legs. There is also a large tray in the room that would be nice for using as a "dining area" for sandwwiches, etc. I know our table always stayed covered up with electronic equipment :)

One more thing about the internet connection. If you purchase the 24 hour deal and change resorts, you are able to use the balance of your hours at your new resort.

We are heading home today, so will touch base with any more thoughts when we get home.

Thank you for your opinions. The resorts are all so nice and it is difficult to make a decision. Every bit of information helps.

Travel safely and we'll be looking for your post when you return home. :)
