DH and I are here at VWL, our first trip to WDW since purchasing a BWV resale this summer. So why aren't we staying at BWV on our inaugural visit? Well, we figured we are going to need more points soon and want to see if we might want to purchase those additional points at VWL or OKW so we'll be spending a couple of nights at each place to check them out. We are also going to tour SSR while we're here.

At the moment we are in a studio at VWL. It is room 1510 - our view is of the walkway and the back of the Mickey topiary, so it's not a fabulous view but it's nonsmoking and it was ready when we arrived at 1:30-ish so we happily moved in. Our studio is absolutely spotlessly clean and in excellent condition. Everything works, including every light bulb. I really love our room -- the colors and the furnishings all really give you that "lodge" feel.

Every CM has been friendly and helpful starting with the guard at the gate who gave us a friendly "welcome home", the bell staff, the front desk staff and the pool lifeguards. Haven't met anyone else yet!

The weather is better than we expected -- it was actually hot today, so after getting settled in the room and grabbing a late lunch, we spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool.

We've only been here a few hours, but I can already see that VWL is a place we will want to return to again and again.

Oh! I almost forgot to mention: on our way from the airport we stopped in at The Timeshare Store to take Tom up on his gift basket offer. We met Kristie who made us feel very welcome. It was nice to see the office in person. I would have liked to say "hi" to Jason and Tom but as it was Sunday, they didn't have the full staff in the office today. The gift basket is amazing! Thanks, Tom!

We are staying at VWL for the first time this June. :woohoo: Keep us posted on all the things you like/dislike, experiences, recommendations, etc....!! I can't wait to hear all about your trip! :wave2:

We'll be going home to VWL in November. We have only had one trip there so far, two years ago. Have a wonderful trip and enjoy VWL.

We will be back home at VWL in March. Can't wait. Enjoy your stay.

Glad you like VWL...it is our favorite. Our next trip is to the BCV. Although I'm looking forward to trying something new, a part of me always wishes for VWL!

Enjoy your stay. :sunny:

We stayed at VWL for our first DVC stay, after buying the BWV, too! ;) I really love VWL, and can't wait to return (in a few months)!!!

Have fun!

Debbie and Stan: I'm so glad you're back at the World ahead of schedule. I always appreciate your writing skills on various postings, and wish the two of you a very magical time. I'm actually going to stay one night at VWL after a birthday trip courtesy of my friend Michelle (who was also at that infamous DIS meet at the Burlington Rainforest Cafe in June). I'm definitely jealous that add-on-itis might receive a treatment after/during this trip!

Can anyone give me an idea about the pool there at the Wilderness Lodge?
Currently we are booked at the BCV for a week in a one bedroom. Wanted to switch to two studios and nothing is available. Our next choice would be the Wilderness Lodge. The reason we chose the BCV was for the pool. I wondered it the pool at WLV is really nice too.
Any input would be great.

We enjoyed the pool at WL, too. It isn't SAB, but it is still a lot of fun. It has a small slide and there are two hot tubs.
Can you be put on a waitlist for BCV studios?

Glad you are enjoying your trip.

Glad you are enjoying your trip, but I would suggest staying in a 1 bedroom unit at each resort to get the real feel for each place.
