Greeting from SSR! Just wondered where is best to head to buy an iPad??
Going to Florida Mall next week but no problem heading somewhere else for one.

Thanks all!

Probably the Apple Store at the Florida Mall. just avoid Friday as the iPhone 5S is released that day and it will be manic!

You really need to do your homework before buying over there.
Deals here can make them cheaper than the US, for eg ebuyer last week had the 32gb ipad mini slightly cheaper than in the US http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/app...elivered-was-346-16-save-58-16-ebuyer-1650308

If you buy in the US you need to remember 6.5% sales tax ontop of listed price plus if you are paying in cash or by a credit card with fees its removing the benefits of buying there, best way is a fee free credit card to get full interbank rate.

Anything you buy over £390 is liable for import duty on return to the UK, chances are you won't get stopped (although you should declare) but if you do that will make it more expensive than the UK.

Also checkout other outlets, Ebay etc or friends selling in UK, last week I sold a brand new, sealed 16gb Ipad mini for a few £ less than US price, sold it to a friend who got a bargain but I saved ebay fees.

As a comparison....

Latest iPad 16Gb WiFi only model is £399

In the US it's $499 plus local sales tax of between 6% and 7% depending on which county you buy in, so worst way $533.93. On the assumption of an exchange rate of 1.50 for average's sake, the ipad in the US would cost you £355.95, a saving of £43.05*

:goodvibes

*on the assumption you don't get collared for import and VAT by UK Customs & Excise

Thanks for all the info guys, I will have aloof around and see what bargains I can find- not keen on the iPad mini normal iPad is small enough for me :) I'm used to a lap top.x

Totally agree, I use an 11" Netbook, there is no way I could use anything smaller.

Thanks guys! Have decided to sack off going to the Florida mall and spend an extra day in the parks and get an iPad back home instead now that we don't have a wedding to save for :)
