Just a quick check in on our last full day here at OKW. This is the first time we've stayed here...and I'm in love! We're in a first floor 1BR lockoff in building 17 near the Millers Road (IIRC) bus stop (actually between that stop and the hospitality house). The villa is in *excellent* condition...looks newly refurbished except for the floor tile (I've always thought Disney and all hotels could do a much better job there). We have a lovely view of the 7th? (hard to see the flag) green...tons of ducks and bunnies visit us daily. This villa also has the new sleeper sofa (yay!).
FWIW, rooms were preassigned. We arrived Sunday around 1pm...Linda at checkin was fabulous. Room was not ready...we went off to shop, etc...called back twice...the last time being 4:30 and the room wasn't ready. Not a huge deal to us...but I did ask if there was anything else possibly available...and that we weren't picky about location...just non smoking and that we preferred nonhandicapped. Paris gladly checked with her "back office"...came back asking if we needed 1st floor (not at all...anything would be great)...and then came back with a room for us. We stopped by the desk for new keys...and have been thrilled ever since!
This has been a very laid back, relaxing trip for us...Sunday shopping, Monday EPCOT/naps/dinner at Kona Cafe/MK til they kicked us out, Tuesday OKW pool and boat rental + American Idol pizza party, Wednesday Typhoon Lagoon...more napping...walked the whole of OKW. I think we'll go back to the parks today. Heading home Friday morning...hoping to beat the I-75 Memorial Day traffic!
Very hot earlier in the week (90s)...cooled down yesterday. Parks haven't seemed terribly crowded...though the waits for some rides have been 30-45 min. We road Soarin...fabulous! Stitch...well...once was enough (and no chili dogs for me, please!). Kids want to go back to MK and then to MGM later...hmmm...no more relaxation for mom! Maybe there's another nap in here somewhere...
